The Boatyard Bar and Grill

After the sale we went to Boatyard Bar & Grill for lunch.

On the back of my menu was a picture of the Donnybrook. JCW crewed on Donnybrook last year in the International Rolex Regatta.

As if the cheese fries weren't bad enough...they came with ranch for dipping.

My go to...a goat cheese salad.

Cream of crab soup

Soft shell crab sandwich...one of my sisters all time favorites.

Fried oysters
... not the healthiest of lunches.

No sailing establishment is complete without Mt. Gay Rum hats. The superstition is that you are never to wear a Mt. Gay Rum race hat on a boat if you didn't sail in that race.

No trip to Annapolis would have been complete without stopping in The Pink Crab.

...and I thought my Whole Foods bags were stylish! I can't wait to use my new Lilly Pulitzer grocery bag.

Annapolis Boutique Sale

Last weekend I went to the Annapolis Warehouse Sale.

Fornash had a stand.

I made a mental note to stop in Paradigm next time I am in downtown Annapolis.

One of my favorite jewelry designers Queen Bee Designs had all sorts of beautiful baubles.

Jimmy and Sook Goodies

This past November I did a post on Jimmy and Sook, a sportswear and accessories brand that started in 2008.

I was thrilled when I received these Jimmy and Sook goodies in the mail! The hat doesn't have a super large brim, which I prefer. The polo is a great way for JCW to express his love of the Chesapeake Bay.

Special thanks to Andy from Jimmy and Sook for his generosity and for creating a brand us Marylanders can wear with great pride.

Ralph Lauren’s Bedford Home

I feel lucky to have saved this Architectural Digest from November 2004. This issue showcases Ricky and Ralph Lauren's home in Bedford, New York. I have a bad habit of throwing away magazines. I cringe when I think of all of Domino magazines that I got rid of during one cleaning spree or another. When I look at the images of this estate, I can't think of another home's interior that even compares to the admiration I feel for this one...well maybe another Lauren home.

Photos by Durston Saylor
I know this home will continue to inspire me no matter how many times I look at the photographs. I love the dark wood, equestrian touches, plaid draperies, organized clutter and blue and white porcelain accents.

Hot Cocoa

I have always enjoyed drinking hot chocolate...especially in the winter. Marshmallows are always a must. As a child the best part of spending a day on the slopes was sitting in the lodge drinking a cup of cocoa.

I recently discovered Swiss Miss Mocha Cappuccino cocoa mix and it quickly became one if my favorite indulgences. I love the taste of coffee but I rarely drink it...this satisfies my sweet tooth (without a calorie overload) and gives me a coffee fix. I use soy milk instead of water which makes it a little more decadent.

Old Brands New Tricks

L.L.Bean is launching a new line called L.L.Bean Signature. Alex Carleton is the Creative Director for this edgier Bean brand. His is staying true to L.L.Bean's classic style just updating the design and fit. Maybe he will do what Jenna Lyons did for J.Crew? Right now there are a few pieces available online with the entire collection arriving in stores and online in March.

Lands' End recently launched Lands' End Canvas. They describe the line as "Effortless, lived-in style". The new apparel and accessories are still classic and timeless just refreshed.

It's wonderful to see L.L.Bean and Lands' End expanding their bands. I am very excited about both of these new updated lines.
