Summer Mixtape

I have always been a huge fan of the mixtape and received a lot from JCW over the years. He started making mixtapes in middle school and then gradually evolved into mix CDs and now he's all about new playlists for road trips. In high school he even gave me a breakup mixtape and low and behold we were back together by the end of the week! With Summer officially over I wanted to share my Summer Mix...

  1. You and Tequila, Kenny Chesney
  2. Pumped Up Kicks -Foster The People
  3. The Downeaster "Alexa" -Billy Joel
  4. Lawyers, Guns, and Money -Widespread Panic
  5. King of Wishful Thinking -Go West
  6. Funcky Kingston  -Toots & The Maytals
  7. The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie -Chili Peppers
  8. Honey Bee -Blake Shelton
  9. Last Friday Night -Katy Perry
  10. How You Like Me Now -The Heavy
  11. You Lie -The Band Perry
  12. Forever Young -Jay-Z/Mr.Hudson
What would you put on your Summer Mixtape? If you decide to do a Mixtape post be sure to let me know, I love hearing about new songs or even being reminded of songs from the past.

Linens & Lingerie

Linens & Lingerie is a local Maryland boutique that carries linens, towels and giftware. The store specializes in monogramming and custom embroidery. I became intrigued by their fabric swatches from Tally Ho Designs and decided to have a custom piece made. There were a lot of options...

After heavy contemplation I ended up having a tissue holder made with light blue seersucker and a navy monogram. The tissue box will complement my blue and white pieces and also come in handy for my fall allergies.

Boatyard & Back Porch

After a couple hours of shopping with JCW we stopped by the boatyard to take a walk around and enjoy the lovely weather.

We did plenty of fantasizing about where we would like to travel by sailboat.

It's always so much fun to to look at the names of boats and their color combinations.

At that point we were very hungry and decided to have lunch at the Back Porch Café at Ken's Creative Kitchen.

I had the California Seafood Salad...any salad with half an avocado is alright by me!

JCW started with the Cream of Crab and then had the Grilled Apple, Cheddar, Fontina and Bacon Sandwich.

The Back Porch Café is located directly on the water at  Annapolis Landing Marina. It's where the locals eat and you really can't beat the view on a beautiful September day.

I couldn't have been happier to spend time with JCW and be by the water. Fall, I am not looking forward to you.

Role Reversal

One Saturday morning in September JCW asked if  I wanted to go shopping with him in Annapolis for sailing gear. My answer was um yeah...spending the day shopping was a no brainier! The first store we went to was Fawcett.

I enjoyed looking at all of the apparel and boat supplies while simultaneously trying to come up with a reason why I needed a new Patagonia.

The next store on his list was West Marine and after about 20 minutes of looking at shorts, winches, and shoes, I had had enough. The only thing I was thinking about was how to get one of the powdered sugar donuts from the boating safely class.

After he finally checked out, I grabbed the bag and bolted to the car thinking we were done.

Little did I know there was one last stop...Annapolis Performance Sailing. I actually found myself acting just like JCW did when I dragged him to Star Monograms. You know you are totally over it when you would rather be outside of the shop! This was a first for me but now I am going to have a little more sympathy for JCW.

Have you ever had a shopping role reversal with your beau?

In the Mail

I recently discovered Alice Supply Co. who specialize in hip housewares. I had to have the Nautical Hammer. I am also fond of the Camo line...it's a little Prep Neck if I do say so.

After admiring the way Bee styled this Ikat Shirt from J.Crew on Atlantic Pacific,I had to order it when it went on sale.

Pizza is one of my favorite foods and I can't believe I had made it this long with out having a a pizza cutter. I have already put the Zyliss Pizza Slicer Crust Cutter that I found on Joss & Main to good use.

Around the Beach

One of the things I love about Rehoboth Beach is going to my favorite shops. It's always fun to check out the "Lilly Wall of Fame" at Tickled Pink...

...as well as the clothes.

Sole is a great boutique for sandals and accessories.

Jeff West Home has fantastic gifts and goodies for your home.

No trip to the beach is complete without stopping by Annie's Bananies. The frozen bananas taste just like ice cream. I went with my usual toppings...graham crackers, caramel and whipped cream.

Bachelorette Festivities

 Bride-to-be & EAS

The next morning the rest of the girls arrived and we spent the day on the beach.

After a relaxing day it was time to head back to the house and prepare for a shower.

Strawberry Mojitos and Graul's carrot cake cupcakes.

The Bride-to-be enjoyed opening her gifts and guessing who gave what.

I gave her a tote to be monogrammed at none other then Star Monograms.

The first stop of the evening was Venus on the Half Shell for dinner.

Our table was on the beach overlooking the bay.

After dinner we took a rickshaw ride to The Rusty Rudder.

Mr. Greengenes was playing and the party continued!

Luckily there was a Royals Farms on the way home and I couldn't resist a made-to-order egg and cheese. Another popular late night menu item with the group were the famous Western Fries.

Special thanks to all the ladies for such a fun night...maybe a little too much fun! xx

Rehoboth Beach

My last trip to the beach this summer was for A's Bachelorette.

The beach house was shabby chic at it's finest.

The rooms were open and simple yet very warm and welcoming.

Scout bags filled with beach essentials lined the foyer.

I arrived just in time to help her unpack her latest Fresh Menu shipment from Freshology.

She had been receiving a Freshology delivery by FedEx twice a week for the past month to prepare for her wedding day. She quickly informed me that's how JLo lost her baby weight and all the celebs were doing it.

Freshology is super convenient with a wide variety of meal options for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and even Dessert.

After settling in we headed to Summer House...the champagne wasn't part of the Freshology regiment but a girls gotta have a little fun! I was happy to celebrate driving over the Bay Bridge. Why have I developed a fear of driving over it in my 30s?
