NYC Thanksgiving

After a wonderful Thanksgiving morning in horse country we headed to NYC for dinner with JCW's family.

Everyone was busy cooking when we arrived.

Our view from The Standard the next morning.

We went to the Alton Lane showroom where I struggled with JCW to pick out something other than a blue windowpane.

JCW's mom was going over some fabric swatches and I think we all agreed on this Schumacher...there may be some daughter-in-law overlap with this one.

Maryland Thanksgiving

We spent the first part of Thanksgiving in Maryland and watched the Thanksgiving Fox Hunt commence.

My mom did her usual spread of Deviled Eggs with Caviar and Ham Biscuits.

JCW & EAS

There were lots of furry friends enjoying the holiday.

We ended the morning with oysters and many of them contained little mini crabs. Apparently they taste like sweet corn or at least that's what JCW told me in hopes that I would try one. Have you ever found oyster crabs?

GiGi's Uber Clutch

I am a huge fan of the GiGi New York's All in One bags. So it's no surprise that I am all about the Uber Clutch in French Leather for winter.

The green is my absolute favorite...

but I also love wearing neutrals like the taupe.

The vibrant red would be great for holiday parties or paired with a red lip.

All of the Uber Clutches come with an extra gold tassel and can be personalized with your initials in gold. These would make such wonderful holiday gifts and even better holidays gifts if they were filled with Hermes bangles.

The code DREAMS will give you 25% off your order which in good through Friday, December 7th.

It's time to announce the winner of the monogrammed catch-all giveaway. The winner is entry #13 Caitlin!

Early Black Friday

Is it just me or do you also feel like Black Friday has already begun? My inbox is already flooded with deals and here are a few things I have been eyeing. Let's start with these Tartan Pants from J.Crew. They are offering 25% off  everything with the code COLOR25.

I am all about plaid and have also been loving these Janey Flats in addition to some pretty fabulous cashmere from their last roll out.

I have this Sequin Tee from last year and it's one of the only sparkly items that I own. They are currently at the J.Crew Factory which is offering 40% off site wide with an additional 15% and free shipping on orders over $100 with the code GIVEANDGET.

Let the shopping begin!

Vagabond House

The best part (besides cooking & eating) of Thanksgiving is creating your tablescape. I've had pretty much every item from Vagabond House's Antler Rustic collection on my lust list for quite sometime. The Morning Hunt collection is also a favorite.

This Pewter Ice Bucket would look great on my newly finished bar table.

Vagabond has an impressive collection of Bar Ware including some rather handsome decanter tags.

The Polo Player Salt & Pepper Shakers would be a great addition to a polo tailgate...

...and lets not forget the Turkey Salt & Pepper Shakers for your Thanksgiving table.

There is something so adorable about this Hive Honey Pot...I am thinking brunch or shower.

Will you be hosting and have you started planning your Thanksgiving table?

Legacy Chase

The Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs is always a great day and sometimes even proves itself to be a little too much fun.

The weather was perfect for races.

All of the essential tailgate items.

Southern Proper's Cotton Pickin' bowtie couldn't have been better coordinated.

I wore an equestrian themed top from Tuckernuck.

There was a wonderful turnout at Roanoke College's alumni tailgate.

Mac and Bob's sticker for a friend's joy ride...now that's a blast from college.

Monogram Tray Giveaway

I posted about McLaughlin Glazeware back in September and they have generously offered to giveaway one of their Charleston Monogram Trays. The winner will get to have the tray personalized with their initials and colors. They have also offered you all a special discount on the tray if you just can't wait to see who wins.

a Rafflecopter giveaway
They sent me a tray with my soon-to-be monogram. It's so strange to see ESW on something but I better get use to it! These trays would make such darling gifts for the holidays.

3 Things

A successful Art Bash which was an event hosted by The Old Line Society last week. Be sure and join the Facebook page and stay in the loop about upcoming events.

I bought a pint of Shore Boy's Cream of Crab Soup from a local grocery store (Eddies) but you can also order it online. It comes straight from the Eastern Shore...don't worry there is no skimping on the crab meat.

I can't even tell you have many Target runs I have made after moving but I can definitely say my best purchase was Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and yes they are magic.

What are you currently loving?

Bourbon Slushies

One of Lawyers Liz's signature tailgating cocktails is the Bourbon Bourbon Slushie. They look best served in a clear glass like a Govino which are my absolute favorite glasses for tailgating.

Ingredients
-1 (64 oz) container pineapple juice
-1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
-1 (12 oz) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
-1 1/2 cups bourbon (LL uses 2 cups of Makers Mark)
-Maraschino cherry juice
-Garnish: Maraschino cherries

Preparation
1. Stir together first 4 ingredients and 1 cup water. Divide mixture
into 2 (1 gal) zip-top plastic freezer bags; seal and freeze 8 hours.

2. Remove from freezer, and let stand 1 hour or until softened and
beginning to melt. Using hands, squeeze bags until mixture is slushy.
Spoon 2 cups mixture into each serving glass. Top each with 2 tsp
cherry juice (do not stir). Serve immediately. Garnish, if desired.

Note:
When serving, don't stir. The cherry juice will drip down to the bottom of the glass, producing colorful layers.

Martha's Vineyard Dining

Over the summer on Martha's Vineyard we had some truly amazing meals. I have always enjoyed summer dining and never get tired of fresh seafood, salads and local tomatoes.

Choptank Oysters from The Port Hunter. The Port Hunter is a new restaurant in Edgartown located on Main St.

The Beach Plum Inn which was my favorite restaurant on the island. I loved the views and simple menu.

A chef came to the house and prepared the most delicious lobster salad over fried green tomatoes as a starter.

Grilled lobster at the legendary Alchmey.

The Bite in Menemsha which was a favorite among the boys for fried food .

Scallops with Pork Belly at The Outermost Inn. The Outermost Inn was an incredible place to watch the sunset and is owned by James Taylor's brother.

Do you have a  favorite restaurant on the Vineyard?

DVF Through Glass

This video "Through glass" captures footage from the Diane von Furstenberg's Spring 2013 New York Fashion week show. In the film you get to experience the creative process/show through the eyes of Diane von Furstenberg, models, makeup artists, and designers. The entire video was filmed using Google's Glass. Glass is Google's latest technology which enables you to capture moments from a totally unique individual perspective. I am completely fascinated with the idea of augmented reality eyeglasses and at the same time somewhat terrified. I would LOVE to get my hands on a pair but my only request is that they make some with a tortoise frame. Would you wear Google Glass?

The DVF iconic wrap dress will always be in fashion...

I keep noticing the DVF sleek minaudieres this season...

Remember to always be an individual...Happy Election Day!

Trick or Treat

I hope you all are coming down from your sugar highs. We had a wonderful time handing out candy, lit our first fire of the season and spent the rest of the night relaxing.

Lawyer Liz had a Halloween party over the weekend and one of her neighbors brought these fabulous cupcakes.
