Ralph Lauren’s Bedford Home

I feel lucky to have saved this Architectural Digest from November 2004. This issue showcases Ricky and Ralph Lauren's home in Bedford, New York. I have a bad habit of throwing away magazines. I cringe when I think of all of Domino magazines that I got rid of during one cleaning spree or another. When I look at the images of this estate, I can't think of another home's interior that even compares to the admiration I feel for this one...well maybe another Lauren home.

I know this home will continue to inspire me no matter how many times I look at the photographs. I love the dark wood, equestrian touches, plaid draperies, organized clutter and blue and white porcelain accents.

  2. I love the deep blue walls! I think it's great that they have personal pictures out, it seems like so many people who are profiled for home design don't!

  4. Beautiful, and very similar to the look of his flagship store, which I'm sure is not a mistake. Gotta love RL!

  8. Oh, I remember this article well.
One of my favourite houses. Of course, it seems I am smitten with everything he does.

  9. You should see the collection I have of magazines Ralph has appeared in (and on the cover!)...I should do a post on it. I have this one too and when he has one like this I usually buy more than one copy just as a backup "in case." haha...I'm obsessed.

  10. I want that closet! I agree about magazines, it is so difficult to fight to urge to toss them during my "spring cleaning" effots, but luckily I did save my Domino mags!

p.s. Thanks for visiting my blog :)

  14. Interesting how I saved that specific Architectural Digest as well, but for a different reason. Since that estate used to belong to my grandparents, more than 25 years ago.
