The Yellow Sign

What is it with men and Waffle Houses? I have only experienced the same type of excitement while on the highway after seeing a sign for Premium Outlets 5 miles ahead.

Their mouths where already watering before we were even seated.

When it came time to order hashbrowns JCW's mind was racing...this may have been a harder decision then where he was going to attend business school.

After deliberating he went with COVERED, CHUNKED and TOPPED. How do you order your hashbrowns? I am slightly embarrassed to admit I go plain jane.

  1. Waffle House AND Cracker Barrel have the same Pavlovian response in guys. It is completely lost on me cuz both places make me wanna gag. I take that back, I can on occasion be talked into Cracker Barrel cuz of the candy selection by the hostess stand and the hard to find Bits o' Honey...XXOO

  2. I love WAFFLE HOUSE! Once a week I treat myself to an Egg/Cheese on Wheat Toast sandwich. Much better than MD or BK could ever produce.

  3. Oh my gosh, my Hubby is OBSESSED with Waffle House. A trait he is happily passing on to our son. He says it's because you can find one in any city near a highway. At least there is a very clean one close by our house.

  5. Waffles are heaven on a plate, as far as I'm concerned. I can leave fancy fruit-smothered Belgian waffles to those that loves 'em, but there is nothing better than a plate of old-fashioned Waffle House waffles smothered with butter and maple syrup for me. Mmmmm!

  6. I know! My husband keeps saying we need to take the kids to Waffle House because they need to have that experience - all of that artery-clogging goodness on a plate! Although, I'll admit, given the right mood, it can be pretty darn tasty! :)

  7. Oh my gosh - that is hilarious! I don't think I've eaten at a Waffle House since I heard their santitation grade is one of the worst in the nation. Eeks!

  12. When I lived in Georgia, there were Waffle Houses on what seemed like every corner, and I can't believe I never ate there!

  17. I'm from Georgia, and now I live in South Carolina. There really is a WaHo on every corner, but don't hate. Deep down, every one of you knows that that you secretly love it's greasy goodness! I take my hashbrowns covered :)

  18. It's the "forbidden fruit" syndrome. You know it isn't good for you, but man is it good.

  19. I'm not really sure what it says about me and if I care, but I LOVE Waffle House. Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwich with Hash Browns Smothered and Covered is my usual order. I ate it much more in college when I needed so soak up a little excess alcohol. The closest one to me now is an hour. I guess South Floridians don't like it very much, yet they will eat IHOP and Denny's which I find tasteless.

  22. I must admit, every once in a while I love a good Waffle House. I stick with waffles though, no hash browns for me! I just have to make sure to use about a gallon of hand sanitizer afterwards!
