Resolutions

Over the weekend my unaccomplished resolution of learning how to play squash was brought up...leave it to JCW to remind me how I failed miserably. Squash has been moved to the back burner for new resolutions in 2012.

Did you hear that shooting is the new Squash? I want to go shooting more in the new year. I am not saying my goal is to be good, just make more of an effort and become more comfortable with a shotgun.

Another resolution is to re-wear and not care! I have never been a big re-wearer because I am always thinking someone is saying..."here she is again in that darn cape". It's funny because when I make a purchase, one of the selling points is that I am going to get a lot of wear out of the piece. Clothes are meant to be worn and loved but sometimes the re-wearing line can be unclear. Do you have issues with re-wearing?

My most realistic resolution is to make time to shoot with my new camera and I am not talking about my usual camera in one hand, cocktail in the other routine.

  2. I'm weird about re-wear too. We're going skiing in a couple of weeks and I'm sick that I'm going to have to wear my same ole' jacket. I went and looked for new ones yesterday but just can't get myself to spend the $$ for something we only do 1x or 2x's a year at that!

  3. Love the Girls Gun Club resolution. Allie's cuff today is right up our alley! And I hope to be "shooting" more photos in the new year myself...and crossing my fingers for a new camera for my birthday next week.

  5. It is so hard to rewear in this world of high tech photos posted everywhere world! I try and rewear all of my pieces and leave a little time in between :)

  6. I have a re-wearing problems as well! I have so many different places I go that I'm not sure if I'm wearing the same outfit I was the last time I saw the people lol! And when I get new clothes, I like to wear them a lot.

  8. Your photography resolution will be well worth it; when you look back in a year you'll inevitably see a large improvement plus has a lot of great memories!

  9. I recommend taking whatever piece of re-wear clothing out of the rotation then reintroduce tada! Also what about monogramming the cape? It would feel like a new piece.

  10. I am so neurotic about re-wearing! Of course my winter clothes are those I own the least of so I always feel like I'm wearing the same outfit over and over! I also love the shooting resolution! My brother got his first shotgun for Christmas and he has promised me he'll take me skeet shooting sometime this year! I can't wait - your pictures always make me so jeal! XO

  11. completely agree with you on the rewearing. I never know what is appropriate so I only end up wearing things like 2 or 3 times.

  12. I'm super frugal, so I'm totally okay with re-wearing.

  13. 100% with you on rewearing, especially since pics end up on fb all the time, last thing I need is for there to be proof that "there she is in that madras patchwork dress again"... even though we buy it b/c we love it and shouldn't we feel okay to wear it often b/c we love it?!?!

oh the travails of being a gal with best-dressed aspirations ;)

  14. I love the picture in the side mirror, especially the bokeh of the mountains. Best wishes on achieving all your resolutions! I don't make them any more as I just get depressed when they don't make it past the end of January. How's the shooting coming? I've been wingshooting once and out for a few rounds of sporting clays so far this month.

  15. One of my goals is also to rewear more of my clothing! Facebook always seems to get in the way of that!

  16. Some folks where wondering where my date book is from...it's Graphic Image. I have been using Graphic Image planners for years and I love them! xx

  17. Ahhhh I have to agree with the re-wearing issues. It's especially hard when you post lots of pictures and BLOG! I haven't posted many pictures lately because... I have been wearing "the same darn zig zag dress" all the time!
BTW - You have inspired me to starting shooting. Haha!
