End of Summer Hiatus

Image: Susan Branch
I am taking a little time off to enjoy the rest of my summer. I will be visiting Martha's Vineyard...

meeting MBW's new addition for the very first time...

and putting some J.Crew cashmere to use with cooler temperatures in the evenings.

Congratulations to the winner of the Southern Tide Skipjack Polo, Amanda from Eloquent English. I would love any recommendations you all have for the Vineyard. To see what I will be up to, follow me on Twitter and Instagram...be back after Labor Day!

Vaccaro's

Vaccaro's is an Italian Pastry Shop in Baltimore's Little Italy with other locations in Canton and the county. They sell cannolis, Italian cookies, cakes, gelato and even have a cafe where you can order specialty desserts.

BACI BALL
Homemade cream puff warmed and filled with Baci Gelato served with hot fudge, and whipped topping.

I never think we are going to be able to finish everything but somehow we always manage.

Vaccaro's is a great place to stop in for dessert. I normally order their Mint Chocolate Chip gelato. Do you have a favorite restaurant in Little Italy? We like La Scala and Chiapparelli's.

I took some of your suggestions when I picked up pink nail polish for summer...Strawberry Margarita, Elephantastic Pink, Pink-ing of You.

House hunting with JCW...that's what we have been doing instead of wedding planning.

Watching the series  Breaking Bad...now we are able to stream Netflix online.

Maryland Lilly Pulitzer

The Lilly Pulitzer store at Towson Town Center is officially open. I went to the party the night before it opened.

The store was absolutely gorgeous and filled with such special details.

The three dressing rooms were all different themes. The crab feast room was by far my favorite...talk about Maryland pride.

The ceiling was lined with crab mallets and the walls with newspaper & pink crabs.

Vibrant pillows where arranged on the upholstered benches.

Oar themed dressing room

A Maryland touch was mixed in with the oars.

The "juice stand story" themed dressing room.

The "Maryland" print was complete with crabs, lacrosse sticks and sailboats along with an iPad streaming Lilly looks.

Of course they had mini crab cakes.

EAS & Lawyer Liz

I discovered the "Shell Yeah" necklace which also doubles as a bottle opener.

I loved that the store was filled with original artwork.

A fellow Roanoke alumni shopping with her mom.

One of the members of the Maryland Lilly store was wearing the "You Gotta Regatta" print.

The powder room was adorable. The sink was outfitted with a fabric skirt in "Coral me Crazy"...

and the walls were lined with portholes.

I met Bethany from Maryland Pink & Green and the Towson Town Guru even featured us as "Style Stars" on her blog.

Special thanks to the Lilly team for choosing Maryland as their newest location and for all of their hard work getting the store ready for business. You all did an amazing job!

Solstice in the City

This summer The Old Line Society hosted a party at Cylburn Arboretum’s historic civil war era mansion. Proceeds from the event went to help support Cylburn Arboretum Association maintain the gardens and grounds, as well as provide educational programming for the community.

 OLS Committee Members

The grounds and glorious gardens of Cylburn Arboretum are hidden gems in Baltimore City. The association can certainly use all the funding they can get to restore and preserve the mansion.

Woodberry Kitchen provided the food and more importantly the rum punch.

Ham and Cheddar Biscuits with Red Pepper Jelly

Bruschetta

Blueberry Crumble

The beer was provided by Flying Dog Brewery.

I kept noticing such great accessories like this Moon and Lola necklace and lots of playful belts...

Custom needlepoint belt

Lilly Pulitzer crab print pants

Guests listened to tunes by The Jody Westerlund Band...

...while sipping wine from Boordy Vineyards on the lawn.

Nelle and I had a wonderful time touring the mansion.

Special thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors! The Old Line Society nearly raised $5000 in proceeds to benefit Cylburn Arboretum Association. Be sure you join The Old Line Society's Facebook page to stay in the loop about future events.
