The Very Finest Grandmother

My Grandmother had a way of lighting up the room. She was full of stories and always surrounded by laughter. She was a kid at heart, a loving mother, the belle of the ball, extremely entertaining, "a real pip"....as she liked to put it.

Grammy, your spirit and vitality will live on through all of us. You will always be loved and never forgotten.

  5. I am so sorry, E! I lost my beloved grandmother a few years back, and it was so difficult. My son carries on her legacy. His name is her maiden name. Maybe you will choose to do something similar.

Save things that will always remind you of her. I saved my Nan's pin cushion and pinking shears because she was an avid sewer. I saved things with her handwriting and small dishes she kept on her dresser. I am so glad I did this. I feel her spirit with me.

I hope you have wonderful memories of your beloved grangmother. I am sure she was very proud of you!

  7. So sorry for your loss. That's a beautiful picture and I'm certain you have wonderful memories.

Yesterday would have been my grandmother's 91st birthday. I've found asking "What would Grammy do?" has become a great way of honouring her memory and spirit.

The picture shows the medal she wore every day - and now it it your mom's to wear.
