The Original Preppy Cookbook

I saw "The Original Preppy Cookbook" on Amazon and couldn't help but order it. The first chapter starts out with the basics of stocking a bar...so much for saving the best for last!

Eat when you are hungry,
sleep when you are tired, and
drink whenever you get the
chance. -Preppy Proverb

Just to name a few recipes: L.L. BEANS, WASP CHICKEN, BUNNY'S BURGERS, EGGS ON THE QUAD, COUNTRY CLUB ARTICHOKES, PINK AND GREEN QUICHE, MUMMY-KNOWS BEST MUFFINS, GUCCI GATORADE.

"The Original Preppy Cookbook" is a great addition to my bookshelf and has found a home next to "True Prep" and TOPH. Do you own a copy of this pink and green cookbook?

  7. this sounds so fun! and what a fun giftie to give!!
i don't cook much -- mr prep does most of it, but i DO know how to make many cocktails and keep the shaker within reach at all time!
Funny story: one night i gave muffy some fruit cocktail, and she said "mama, i thought a COCKTAIL was a drink."
    whoops! :-)

  8. I think MoMo has a copy at home that I'll have to take on a trip ;) I have "The Original Preppy Apron" from the 80's- not sure if it came with this or TOPH, but MoMo saved it and now it's mine!

  11. Hilarious! It would perfect next to my 1982 edition of The Junior League of Palm Beach Cookbook.

  12. Saw a post about this cookbook on another blog a while ago and ordered it(used). Haven't tried any of the recipes in it though. It sits next to 'The WASP cookbook' and 'Tipsy in Madras'.
