Like Mother Like Daughter

From handbags to napkins, my mom and I always seem to pick out the very same things. I don't think this is a coincidence. It's pretty clear that my mother is my tastemaker. As a teenager I remember patiently waiting while she tried on pair after pair of  Stubbs & Woottons during spring break... who knew years later I would be trying to sneak them out of her closet! Did your mother's taste shape your style?

  1. I was 7 pair deep in the velvet Stubbs before I finally realized they ran 1/2 a size too small, unlike the true fit needlepoints. All 7 pair have new homes in my cousin and niece's closets. May be time to start the collection anew...XXOO

ps...finally nabbed the black and gold Napoleanic needlepoint bees and looove them :)

  2. My grandfather (rip) and dad are responsible for me. Including style...but in many other ways as well. Cool kicks, btw...

There is no better complement to your mom, than to say that she is your tastemaker - very, very cool! I hope to be able to be a positive influence on my daughter's style some day :)

  12. My mother influenced my taste in apparel AND interior design. And more, no doubt. I'm sure if I took the time, I could come up with quite a list!

  15. Hehehe, I love it! What's funny is my mom is not very girlie at all, and well--you know I am! She actually comes to me more for fashion advice than I do to her!
