APK & JCW
After breakfast we went ice skating at The Standard. I hadn't ice skated in years and was just happy that I didn't wipe out.
After ice skating we went to Pearl Oyster Bar for lunch.
JCW's sister recommended the lobster roll and we weren't disappointed.
After lunch we headed uptown to Ladurée for macarons.
JCW was a real trooper about waiting in line so I could pick up some gifts for Aunt S and BLS.
We couldn't resist getting some macarons for ourselves and our favorite was by far the salted caramel. What's your favorite macaron flavor?
Looks like you hit all the right spots.....and looks like a fun few days. Great highlights..and by far the sweestes is the pics from Laduree!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite flavor is chestnut but it's seasonal. When I was at the NYC store in September, I wanted to get a box of those but I was told that they only carry the regular flavors, not the seasonal ones. After that, my next favorite flavor is the caramel.
ReplyDeletepistachio is my favorite, but salted caramel is a close second!
ReplyDeletesounds fun. My husband would have not been a good sport about waiting in line for macaroons. HA!
ReplyDeleteHaven't been ice skating in years either.
The coco choco @ Paul's in Georgetown ...I want one NOW!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great trip! Mmm now I am craving macaroons!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a blast! I love your cape and all that macarons!

The salted caramel is definitely my favorite! Such a great way to end a busy day!
ReplyDeleteI've been dying to try Pearl. Everytime I go, they're closed :(
ReplyDelete~KAH
Definitely the caramel! And we had to wait in line forever as well! But totally worth it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI went to Laduree on Madison in September, and out of all the flavors I tried, I have to go with the raspberry as my favorite! P.S. Love your J. Crew cape!
ReplyDeletePistachio is pretty much always my favorite flavor for everything. ;)
ReplyDeletePassionfruit is my favorite flavor macaron. Your nephew is adorable.
ReplyDeleteLooked like a successful trip! Fleur d'orange, such a unique flavor...A tough one to pick a favorite, salted caramel is definitely up there! Car, train, bus or plane?
ReplyDeletei adore your cape! i love raspberry macaroons! I served them at my graduation cocktail!
ReplyDeletesounds like wonderful time! Love the cape on you!
ReplyDeletehow was ice skating at the standard? I was at the Standard Grill a few weeks ago and saw that they had the rink set up.
ReplyDeleteThe salted caramel is my favorite as well!
What a fun trip! The cape is adorable! Love pistachio or rose macarons!
ReplyDeleteThe ice rink was great! I am glad to hear you all like the J.Crew cape...it was a trend I wasn’t sure if I was going to follow. I did get two compliments from strangers on how much they liked it...which always means more when you are in New York! The cape did make ice skating a little more challenging because it was hard to move my arms…boy I would have felt like a fool if I had fallen on the ice in the cape. haha
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the macaron flavor recommendations! xx
mmmm. Those macarons look delicious! And you look great in your winter-wear!
ReplyDeletexoxo.
Lol, I bet it would have made it hard to brace yourself for the fall. You both look smashing as always and what a snazzy dresser your nephew is! You and your family and friends are so enjoyable to watch - i am never disappointed in your outfits!
ReplyDeleteI left you a comment on the Christmas post.... Do still check older posts?
Happy New Year to you guys and thanks for living the aspirations I secretly cultivate, haha!
Drooooooling... over that lobster roll and those lovely macaroons! Delish!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! I live in North Jersey, about 25 minutes from the city and love popping in for visits. I am studying abroad next semester and the Italian consulate in RIGHT around the corner from Laduree on Park and 69th, so every time I had my visa appointments I enjoyed a few macaroons on the train ride back :) Caramel is my absolute favorite!!!! Coffee is a close second.
ReplyDeleteYum, yum, yum!!! I'm sure they can never compare to the iconic Laduree, but Whole Foods' lavender macarons are phenomenal. Looks like a successful trip!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great trip--I'm the same as you, anytime I go ice skating (which isn't very often) my goal is to just not fall!
ReplyDeleteThat cape is adorable! I haven't been ice skating in ages!
ReplyDeleteLove the cape and your bag! This reminds me that I really need to take my kids ice skating. And, those macarons - sinfully delicious!
ReplyDeleteJust red up on all your posts on New York. What good times and great memories. You look fabulous as always!
