Dana Gibson Giveaway

The talented Dana Gibson who is based out of Richmond, Virginia has generously offered one lucky reader their choice of a Bamboo Wastebasket. The giveaway ends Wednesday, March 7th, at 5pm EST and is only open to U.S. residents. The winner will be drawn using Random.org.

Dana’s influences are varied but her love for what she does shows through. Her pieces are designed to mix discretely with antiques or stand as works of art in a Spartan room. Her pillows will add dash and her lamps, drama to any corner of a room. Expect the unexpected or merely a new twist on good taste. “I want my designs to always elicit either a reaction of delight or pleasure. I like surprises.” And so do we all.

Her shop is filled with lots of other goodies like lamps, pillows, vases and picture frames.

The Giveaway:
  1. One entry...leave a comment, you must be a follower.
  2. For an additional entry = 2 entries...become a fan on Facebook.
  3. For an additional entry = 3 entries...become a fan of Dana Gibson on Facebook.

Dana even designed slow cookers for Hamilton Beach. I love this green bamboo pattern...

in addition to the blue & white chinoiserie pattern.

Wintry Mix

One of the only days we have had snow/ice this winter I headed to lunch with Lawyer Liz and another friend.

 We went to Donna's Cafe.

The Roasted Portabella Salad with goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes was delicious.

As a belated birthday gift, I brought Lawyer Liz crab Tervis Tumblers.

I couldn't resist ordering a Chai Latte to go because the one I ordered at lunch was so tasty.

We had a truly wonderful weekend at the beach and it looks like I am going to be ESW.

This was the morning after JCW proposed so stay tuned for much more to come.

Hermes Quadrige

I have fallen in love with the Hermes Quadrige collection. Have you checked out the Paris Mon Ami! adventures website by Hermes? The site is an online journey of four girls from different parts of the world and there is plenty of Hermes eye candy...I love admiring the enamel bangles

Throwing Clays

So far I have put in a little work towards my shooting resolution. Our first stop was meeting Dixie's parents and picking up some clays.

Being able to throw clay pigeons is a whole other resolution...that's what the boys are for anyway.

Shades: Tom Ford
Practice makes perfect or so they say.

If I prove myself maybe I will have my very own Beretta one day.

JCW showing me how it's done.

 EAS & Dixie's Mom

After all of that shooting we had worked up an appetite...I couldn't have been happier with my Crab Wedge Salad from The Still.

Happy President's Day

Stina Stitches carries over 40 do it yourself needlepoint kits...I know which one I would choose. These kits are perfect for anyone that's ever wanted to learn how to needlepoint. There are even video tutorials on the Stina Stitches website. I am by no means a needlepoint expert but it's a simple hobby to pick up. Enjoy the holiday...what a great day to catch up on your needlepointing project!

In honor of President's Day Stina Stitches is offering 20% off your order today with the code PRESIDENT.

Scores

I picked up A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of A Misspent Life when Joss & Main was having a Rizzoli Publishing sale. The coffee table book is by Mary Randolph Carter. She's an author, photographer, designer, and longtime creative director for Ralph Lauren.

For all those who choose to live "imperfectly" with the messy things they love, this book shows how to do so creatively, happily, and with considerable style ideas from leading designers.

I rarely buy anything black but I couldn't resist the bow and ruffle details on this Milly Dress. I ordered it from Revolve Clothing and took advantage of their first time customer 30% off. I was thrilled to find out that when you place your first order with Revolve Clothing they give you 30% off...all you do is send them an email with your order number.

Gretchen Scott was running a half off promotion on Uscoop, which I snatched up right away. Now my only decision is whether to order a cotton tunic or this ruffle dress.

Have you recently had any good scores?

Federal Hill

After lunch we walked to the top of Federal Hill to take in the magnificant view of Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

The flag has 15 stars and 15 stripes which is a replica of the 1814 flag that flew over Fort McHenry. It's called "The Star Spangled Banner Flag" because it inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star-Spangled Banner.

Just behind me is the memorial for The Pride of Baltimore which was lost at sea in 1986. The memorial is a raked mast of a Baltimore Clipper and lists the names of those lost in the tragedy.

It felt more like June than January...that's my kind of winter weather.

Grilled Cheese & Co.

Last month we finally checked out Grilled Cheese & Co. Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup are total comfort food and make a great lunch on a lazy Sunday.

I ordered an original grilled cheese and JCW had one with bacon and tomatoes.

Any restaurant with Old Bay on the table is alright by this Marylander.

We visited the Grilled Cheese & Co. that's located in Baltimore's Historic Federal Hill.

My Love Is Your Love

 Image: Amanda Bee
Wishing you and yours a happy Valentine's Day. The tragic death of Whitney Houston was a reminder to not take anything for granted. There is more to love than just chocolates and flowers...although they both are great! I am grateful for feeling loved everyday of my life. xx

MBW Celebrations

My Boston bestie, MBW is in town this weekend for her birthday and baby shower. I have a feeling her little girl is going to be a Lilly Lover just like mommy. This picture was taken on Christmas Eve, so I can't wait to see the baby bump progress...let the celebrations begin!

Greenbrier Farewell

We had a wonderful time at The Greenbrier, relaxing and enjoying each other's company. My camera on the other hand didn't get much downtime. I was beyond inspired by the hotel's history and decor but most of all happy to support such a treasure.

In 1961 Hotel Gazette predicted that The Victorian Writing Room would go down in history as America's most photographed room.

The room is complete with stationary for guests to write letters...

and decorated with Fudge Apron fabric.

  EAS & SAS

Sporting Clays are on the agenda for the next visit.

...until we meet again White Sulphur Springs.

Special thanks to the staff at The Greenbrier  for being so friendly, extremely helpful and even reopening the gift shop so sister could get some Excedrin to treat her...stayed out too late in the casino last night migraine.

Greenbrier Shopping & Draper's

The Greenbrier has some wonderful shops like Ralph Lauren.

I always admire the blue & white pieces...

and the equestrian touches in RL stores.

I couldn't resist popping in the Adventure Store and checking out their shotguns.

Carleton Varney has a gift shop in the resort that carries his beautiful scarfs...they were even selling some of them framed.

Fudge Apron is my second favorite print from the Greenbrier and the fabric was for sale in Varney's store.

 EAS, BLS, SAS

Draper's Cafe is a darling place for lunch or dinner.

The restaurant looks like an old fashioned soda shop.

 The decor is incredible girly.

Notice the picture of Dorothy Draper on the back wall?

I had the savory Pot Roast Sandwich.

SAS ordered a Ham & Brie Sandwich.

Having something sweet was a must...

so I went with a Black & White Ice Cream Soda.
