All the Buzz

I have yet to dance walk in public but there have been numerous occasions where I have been dance walking in my head.

Can you even image how the Nameless Dance Walk Guru Master felt when he found out how many people he had influenced?

There has been a Call Me Baby video craze on You Tube and Jessica from The Love List even made these printable calling cards.

I recently discovered the band Alabama Shakes and saw them play at Rams Head Live.

Have you read Fifty Shades of Grey? What did you think? Should I keep it in my Amazon chart?

Staying on a risqué note...I have been watching the HBO series Girls. I was a little embarrassed to come right out and say how much I enjoyed such a graphic show until JCW's parents couldn't stop raving about the new series.

I love finding out about the new fads...have you seen anything lately that you think is pretty cool?

  1. Fifty Shades of Grey was pretty poorly written, but I would recommend it as a beach read!

Also, have you seen this yet? http://whatshouldwecallme.tumblr.com/
I get a good laugh daily from this site!

  2. I looooove Alabama Shakes! And agreed with the above comment about the what should we call me tumblr; it never fails to make me laugh out loud.

I haven't read 50 shades yet, but I'm curious. On the one hand, I don't want to give the "author" more money because I've heard how horribly written it is. But on the other hand, I feel like I'm on the outside of a big secret that I wanna know!

  3. My mother and all of her girlfriends read FSoG last month. And yes, my mother will be 70 years old this December. They all liked the series. I will be taking all three to the beach soon. I am more of a Southern LIGHT romantic humor type, you know MaryKay Andrews etc... we'll see.

  4. I agree with C about the Fifty Shades trilogy. I'm half way through the second book, and again, can't put it down. Thank goodness it's on my iPad so people can't see what I'm reading. ;)

As for bands, my favorites of the moment are Bombay Bicycle Club and Grouplove. I'm seeing Grouplove next week at 9:30 Club and am super excited.

I tried Girls but couldn't get into it at all. My fave HBO show of the moment is Game of Thrones. This season was spectacular! Am so sad that it's over and I may even try the books. Hubby and I discovered something on Cinemax that we LOVE- Strike Back. It's a series that came over from the UK and we watched all 10 episodes over Memorial Day weekend. I loved it.

  7. Love this post! "Call Me Maybe" has been stuck in my head for at least a month straight now. I saw a bachelorette party a couple weeks ago with calling cards as well!

My friend sent me a link to read the 50 Shades books but I haven't had a chance to read them yet.

I am also enjoying Girls and have been hesitant to admit it! Glad I am in good company with that :)

Those calling cards are super adorable!

  9. Truly one of my favorite posts! Dance walking made me smile throughout the whole clip! Loved it! If I were only so uninhibited!
50 Shades is downloaded.... not on my Kindle, as my dad is on my account... can you imagine? So I will be reading it on my iPad.
Girls. My daughter and her friends have been raving about it, so this weekend I did a marathon. I'm hooked. They had me at the first scene. Parents cutting their daughter off financially. I was doubled over in laughter.
OK, must get to my blog before I lose motivation!
Or maybe I should do a little dance walking!

  11. Fun post! I wanted to share a radio show I found on a long Memorial weekend drive. Here is the FB page https://www.facebook.com/#!/LostAndFoundRadio

We discovered The Milk Carton Kids through the show and love them. Not sure how you feel about folk influenced music, but I love them!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_Yh6bV10ss&feature=share

This show and the FB page comments are going to be great sources for under the radar music!!

  14. Love AS! And as for 50 shades, very mixed feelings. But I will say it didn't give me the "I want to jump my husband" feelings everyone seemed to think it would. I'll have to check Girls out. Thanks for the intel!

  16. I so so so love Girls. I think my favorite was the party episode. But the past two episodes have both been awesome. I think they now are in the groove of things.

  19. I am on the second book of fifty shades- I am not in love with it like the rest of the world but it's a fast mindless read. On the other hand I do love girls!!! You're rights very raw but I love it! I am also loving Dallas makes me want to go watch all the original series
