White Walls

Yesterday, I started thinking about paint colors for the nursery. I am planning on painting the room white so I picked up some Benjamin Moore paint swatches. Here are some of the contenders...

Decorators White

 Cloud White

White Dove

Do you have a favorite shade of white?

  1. Buy a sample pot of each and paint swatches on the wall. That way you can see how the colors change throughout the day with waxing/waning natural and artificial light...XXOO

  2. I'm repainting my master bathroom and bedroom and am having the most difficult time selecting colors! I think I have settled on BM Muslin for the bedroom but am completely stumped o the bathroom.

All of your choices look like great whites, I would purchase samples and see what looks best with the lighting in the room.

  3. We've used Cloud White for our trim throughout the house and as a wall color in our hallways and stairwell. It seems to go nicely with all colors: other BM wall colors in our house are 2020-50, 1640, 2133-40 and OC-43.

  4. When we painted our lake side condo I compared BM Whites to find the color closest to the canvas of llbean totes. Dove white won hands down. Have loved it ever since.

  5. Each of my last 3 houses has been coated in White Dove. It's an expressive, rather than flat, white. Go for it! -KLV in PHL

  6. What Ali said……patches on the wall to live w/ during all phases of light really help. But I don't think DW will let you down….it's a very clear white so you can use almost any accent colors and it looks just right.

So excited to watch your little family grow!

  7. We just choose Simply White for a re-do, interested to see how it comes out. We're guiding the project from afar, otherwise I completely agree with Allie VonSummerverb!

  8. I've used about every BM white and Simply White is a favorite. A classic white without gray, geen or blue undertones. So clean & crisp while still being warm! Decorators has a heavy blue undertone and Dove has a lot of gray.

  9. First off, Congrats on your baby news! Can't wait to see all the fun in store for your family! We did decorators white at our beach house because it is a crisp white. I love it there. At home we mostly do white dove. It is a slightly warmer white, and I love that too. Can't go wrong. xoxo

  12. We went with BM cloud white on the exterior of our home and I wish we had gone with BM white dove. The cloud white seems to be too yellow. We did White Dove on the interior trim and cabinets and I love the White Dove.
