Throwing Clays

So far I have put in a little work towards my shooting resolution. Our first stop was meeting Dixie's parents and picking up some clays.

Being able to throw clay pigeons is a whole other resolution...that's what the boys are for anyway.

Shades: Tom Ford
Practice makes perfect or so they say.

If I prove myself maybe I will have my very own Beretta one day.

JCW showing me how it's done.

After all of that shooting we had worked up an appetite...I couldn't have been happier with my Crab Wedge Salad from The Still.

  2. Shooting in common today, although you look way cuter and are using actual clays. Or outing was a bit more spontaneous, but we made it work! Hope you have a great Wednesday!

  3. Looks like you had a blast! And that Beretta is beautiful. Any idea of the brand of sunglasses JCW is wearing? They look really sharp.

  5. Very fun! I'm glad you're getting out and practicing shooting. (though technically not sporting clays ;-) ) Throwing clays with a manual thrower is hard. Much easier when you have an automatic trap and you can just push the button. I just shot in my first SC tourney on Monday. I didn't do great but I did finish in the top two for the ladies division. Never mind that there were only two of us.

  6. you look too cute! I've been skeet shooting twice before and would love to go again! and who says you can't look cute doing it?

  7. You and JCW should head over to Loch Raven Trap Club. Will give you the opportunity to really hone your skills in a variety of settings - double skeet, 5-stand, trap, and wobble trap. And then you can go over to Peerce's for lunch!

  8. That's not "sporting clays" - it's just shoting clays or something akin to shooting trap. Please look up "sporting clays" and note the difference.

  10. What a fun outing! I have never been a good shot but this past summer a friend of mine gave me a quick lesson and I hit 3 out of 6! I guess I just needed the right teacher.
    Ps
    That salad looks divine.

  11. I wasn't sure there could be a more perfect salad for the bf who loves traditional wedge salads, but adding crab to a wedge is definitely it! I'll have to make this soon. ;)

  17. Lookin' good!!!

My hubby's shotty and rifles are so heavy and large for me (of course, I am only 5'2.) I am considering youth sizes so I can join in the fun.

I hope you are having as beautiful day in MD as we are in GA!!!

  19. Oh, this takes me home to Kentucky. We purchased a clay thrower for the back of my brother-in-law's pick up and we sport clays out on the farm in the back yard. It's not a holiday on the farm without the clays! You look like you had fun!
