Beach Birthday

I just returned from celebrating my birthday at the beach.

We had a delicious dinner at Agave in Lewes...

and took plenty of walks on the beach.

Cinco Powell

I tend to love anything with a tassel so these tassel key rings from Cinco Powell totally fit the bill. Check out their Facebook page or Instagram account to see how great their tassels look on various handbags. I am thinking of adding one to my Boat and Tote.

The medallion tags are also a fun addition to a handbag and even better when paired with a tassel.

Charlottesville

I did a little exploring in Charlottesville and checked out some of the local antique stores.

Lawyer Liz and I took a Barre class and then walked around UVA's campus.

A visit to the fabulous home store And George was on my list.

I discovered The Scout Guide which are city guide books that showcase local businesses. They're going to be a go-to when visiting a new city.

We had lunch at Citizen Burger which happened to be in the Charlottesville Scout Guide. I was in heaven because they had delicious gluten free hamburger buns.

The whole group had a lovely dinner in the garden at C & O Restaurant.

Before heading home we stopped at Carter Mountain Orchard for some peaches...

and to take in the lush mountain views.

Monticello

We spent an afternoon touring Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello. I was already impressed before we even made it to house with the gift shop and the fact that the snack bar sold gluten free grilled cheese sandwiches.

I must admit, I had no idea Monticello was on the back of the nickel. That was learned via instagram.

We explored the grounds and than took a tour of the interior.

 JCW & EAS (my sunnies)

The views and gardens were my favorite part.

The Boar's Head

We spent a long weekend at The Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville last month.

It was a guys squash trip but the wives decided to tag along. Boar's Head is owned by UVA and that's where the school's squash facilities are located.

It was fun to explore the lush grounds.

The Inn is very charming and a great place to relax.

After checking in we headed to Feast for a quick lunch. Feast is a gourmet deli and grocery store with locally sourced food. It's located in a market with a fresh flower stand and butcher shop.
