Grateful Prep

Recently I have been noticing some of my favorite brands merging with "the band beyond description". These "Steal Your Face" velvet slippers by Del Toro are the perfect shoe for "dancing in the streets"or at a black tie affair.

When I first saw the "Dancing Bear" needlepoint belts by Smathers & Branson at Yoicks, you would have thought I had seen a "fire on the mountain" I was so taken back.

Lilly Pulitzer even jumped on the Grateful Prep tour bus when they posted a link to "Sugar Magnolia"on their Facebook page not to mention a Cherry Begonias print in their Summer 2011 Collection. Do you have a favorite Grateful Dead song?

The winner of my Sperry Giveaway is Taylor from Southern Girl in the City. Congratulations on your Sperry Top-Sider miracle!

  6. Hilarious that these bastions of preppydom are featuring Grateful Dead items on their products - I'm sure a lot of preppies spent time at a Grateful Dead concert or two, under the influence of nothing, I'm sure. ;)

  10. I will never forget the best older guy swimmer in the summer league coming up to my shy tween self before my event and saying, hey, I hear your a Dead Head. Cool! My niave, flattered self thought it was some sort of drug reference but took the compliment anyway, uh huh. Apparently, word of my recent, and first musical purchase ever, American Beauty at the Mall had traveled through to his high school. Ahhh, the good ole pre FB days...XXOO
