Saturday morning I tracked his boat and noticed they had gone off course and were docked in Norfolk, VA. I had been tracking his boat as if I had a pair of Louboutins coming by FedEx! I tried to remain calm as all of the possibilities of what could have happened ran through my head. A couple hours later I got a call from JCW saying that they had hit a rock while leaving the Chesapeake and everyone was ok. Sunday I got the real story. The rock they hit was actually a bolder, a few crew members went to the hospital in addition to the Coast Guard coming to get them.
In celebration of his safe return home we got snowballs with SAS. It was my first snowball of the season and was probably my sister's 37th!
Oh my goodness I bet you were freaking out. Glad he is okay!
ReplyDeleteSnowballs = yes, please.
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone is at last home safe and sound - scary...
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes -

Oh my gosh that is so scary. Glad everyone is safe, especially JCW! I'm sure he was so bummed.
ReplyDeletescary! I hope everyone is ok
ReplyDeleteWhew, scary! You must have been on the edge of your seat until you got that call. Sweet boy for downplaying it to not get you too worried. What's a snowball, by the way?
ReplyDeleteEesh! Glad he returned to you safely!
ReplyDeleteE: Glad to know everyone is okay. Where can you get a proper snowball in these parts? And is that condensed milk on top?
ReplyDeleteI always forget that snowballs are a Maryland thing. They are like snow cones but with shaved ice. You can get marshmallow on top of your snow ball, in the middle, or both! SnOasis is my favorite location for snowballs. Here is a post from last year…http://letthetidepullyourdreamsashore.blogspot.com/2010/05/snoasis.html
ReplyDeleteI highly suggest trying a snowball if you ever come across a stand on the side of the road! xx
Glad everyone is okay. You definitely needed a Snowball after that - and maybe spiked with something a little stronger. :-) Xoxo
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! That is scary. So glad he is okay. Don't boys always tell the "milder version" of the story? Once we find out the "real story" it's usually much more dramatic. EGADS.
ReplyDeleteSo glad JCW was okay! And yum--I would love one of those snow balls!
ReplyDeleteGlad he was okay, I can only imagine the thoughts that ran through your head until you rec'd the call! Unfortunately, a classmate of mine wasn't so lucky. She died last Friday in a boating accident in VA. So sad!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for the snow cone, maybe I'll try one tomorrow! It will be hot enough, heading to Annapolis -- can't wait! :)
Also, can't wait to check out the GUCCI outlet store over in Queenstown! :)
How scary! Glad your beau and his fellow sailors are okay.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear JCW made it to land safely! And I think I MUST try a snowball!
ReplyDeleteHow scary! So glad JCW was safe!
