EAS & Lawyer Liz
Our goal was to stay as dry as possible and find a tent with a TV to watch the races.
We made a quick stop at the Yoicks tent where I spied these "Monkton, MD" Smathers & Branson key fobs.
Bowties look good even when it's pouring.
After braving the elements Lawyer Liz was determined to have a good time.
Egg salad topped with caviar hit the spot.
Some weren't phased by the rain in the slightest...
...while others retreated to the car for fried chicken.
Let me welcome Lucy! Lucy is Otho's new baby sister and Lawyer Liz and her Beau's latest addition. Otho has been the perfect older brother and little Lucy has developed a habit for Goyard bags...think worst case scenario!
Glad you survived and hello dear Lucy!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend-
Linda
Oh no, not the Goyard!! Guess a new color was in order anyway, right? :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! Not the Goyard! Precious puppy but she would be in the D.O.G.dog house for that one. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLucy is precious! I'm a firm believer that rain can make events like these more fun!
ReplyDeleteI love you blog! I stumbled on it one day and have been loving it ever since. I love your barbour jacket. Could you tell me what style it is?
ReplyDeleteMy Lady's Manor is my favorite of all the races in MD (yes, even Hunt Cup and Preakness), and the sight of my parent's first date. Awesome memories.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you like the blog...thanks for reading! The style of my Barbour is Bedale.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday everyone! xx
EAS, What does the cap, that you and Lawyer Liz were wearing, commemorate?
ReplyDeleteOur hats are from Grand National another steeplechase race in Maryland. Stay tuned for a post on Grand National next week! xx
ReplyDeletelooks like fun despite the rain! I love that little Lucy! Is she a frenchie or a boston terrier? So cute!
ReplyDeletexoxo.
I don't follow the Maryland point-to-points and timber races as much as I had at one time, but did you make it to the Maryland and Potomac Hunts and the Legacy Chase?
ReplyDeleteLooks like great fun!
ReplyDeleteBowties and Moet - sounds like the makings of a good time to me! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi there! Sorry for the late post, hopefully you still check old posts for questions! I just found your blog and am looooving the photos! I noticed your Barbour bedale straight away, since I tried one on this past weekend and couldn't decide. Yours looks fabulous, is it the olive or sage? I was told the olive is more traditional, but your friend seems to have the sage (judging by the lining). In terms of size, 34 still feels super roomy, and I'm 5'7. yours fits you perfect, what size is it? Thanks for helping!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Bedale is a 34 in sage, it’s huge on me but perfect for layering with fleeces. The Bedale is very boxy and not fitted in the slightest. If you have any other questions about other styles call Jana the manager at the Georgetown location. I hope this helps and thanks for reading! xx http://letthetidepullyourdreamsashore.blogspot.com/2010/11/its-barbour-time.html
