Fresh Market carries a lot of the same organic items as Whole Foods but they also carry items found in regular grocery stores like Coca-Cola...it's the best of both worlds.
I was very impressed by their flower selection...especially the beautiful orchids for $19.99.
The candy section is huge with everything from Chocolate Covered Animal Crackers in bulk bins to nostalgic candy like Sky Bars. In addition to the bulk candy there are bins of nuts and dried fruit.
Fresh Market carries a wide variety of coffee flavors including Pumpkin Spice...which I have been enjoying every morning this Fall.
I love a good olive bar and now I am officially hooked on their garlic stuffed olives.
Two items that are always on my shopping list are Sweet Leaf Green Tea and Thin Crust Margherita Pizza.
Does the lighting in your Fresh Market seem softer than other grocery stores? What are your Fresh Market favorites?
I love the Fresh Market too!!! If they have it up there at yours, you must try their Pimiento Cheese! It's great on their seasoned crostini. It's just the best!!
ReplyDeleteI love fresh market except that I spend significantly more money there than at the regular grocery store.
ReplyDeleteOhhh love garlic stuffed olives. I've found them at Trader Joe's too.
ReplyDeletei LOVE fresh market! one time a lady behind the deli counter gave me a tub of black truffle butter marked down over 50% just because. And I agree with Dawn W, their seasoned crostini are super yummy. I love them with hummus.
ReplyDeleteI first found out about Fresh Market two years ago when my sister was living in Annapolis and quickly became hooked. One opened in NoVa this summer and I can't get enough of my bulk food faves like the sesame bites and all the versions of party mix they have.
ReplyDeleteMust check this out! Yet again you are such a great resource EAS! Hope you are well xoxo.
ReplyDeleteThere's a Fresh Market within in walking distance of our house - very dangerous. I LOVE that store! From the minute you walk in, the smell of cinnamon pine cones, the gorgeous floral display, the lighting, the music. It certainly lulls you into a state of spending lots of cash!
ReplyDeleteI love Fresh Market! I always pick up some Cheerwine while I'm there, and I love all the snack mixes that you can buy by the pound as well. I also got the cranberry chocolate coffee last time and it is delish!
ReplyDeleteI loove fresh market! We have both whole foods and fresh market, but since TFM is around the corner, I am partial. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhitney, where in NoVA is the Fresh Market?! I live in DC but would venture out in a second to visit FM. We have one at home in MS and it's my favorite place to grocery shop. The holiday coffee blend is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteWe dont have a Fresh Market in Houston but I have visited in North and South Carolina and love shopping there for produce and prepared items. The pizza is delicious!
ReplyDeleteWe have one in Savannah and I would drive by saying all the time "I need to go in there" well a month ago I did. OMG that place is AMAZING. Like everyone else I spent way too much money.
ReplyDeleteThe Fresh Market is definitely my go-to...I am super lucky to have one 3 blocks from my condo here in Raleigh! I do a little shopping at Harris Teeter (2 blocks away!) and some at Whole Foods (about a mile and a half away) but TFM is far and away my fave! Yes, some things can be more expensive, but others are surprisingly less so...particularly produce items and healthier snacks! I love their cups of fresh fruit and berries, which in my opinion you cannot beat (cut and cleaned) for $9.99/lb! They also have a phenomenal deli and cheese department (and bakery...shhh!) I find it a most civilized grocery shopping experience, with the soft/dark lighting, classical music and free coffee to sip while you peruse the aisles.
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t agree more that TFM is the "most civilized grocery shopping experience" ever! I am going to look for the seasoned crostinis. xx
ReplyDeleteI could spend HOURS in Fresh Market--whenever Bryce and I go together it's bad, we stuff our carts with everything wonderful we see (which is pretty much everywhere in the store!).
ReplyDeleteI never been to a Fresh Market! Looks wonderful though!
ReplyDeleteThat is my absolute FAV grocery store. And, I just discovered one near here in Westport too. So happy they're finally making their way North! XXOO
ReplyDeleteTFM is grocery store heaven! I pay $1 more per pound for apples there. They are so much better. I buy the little bags of spices that are on an end cap. They are a bargain. Great bakery, great produce and great meats. I especially love their Waldorf chicken salad. Sometimes it has a little to much mayo, so I buy 1 pound of the Waldorf and 1/2 pound of the rotissierie (sp?) chicken salad and mix them together. It is wonderful. I could go on and on...
ReplyDeleteWe had an amazing Fresh Market in Charlotte and yes, I think the lighting was a little more dim! Believe it or not....I do not have a wonderful grocery store near me and have to drive miles just to get to a Whole Foods. That's the best thing going in my area. But, if they're moving to Westport, maybe they'll move down the road to Rye!
ReplyDeletexoxo Elizabeth
You discover the best places. We have one in Williamsburg and I have to
ReplyDeletelimit my visits. At Christmas,I tell friends to just give me Fresh Market gift certificates!! My favorite coffee
is the Cinnamon Hazelnut.
Loooove the fresh market. Their white wine rotisserie chickens are amazing. All of their prepared foods are wonderful. Great produce too. There is one around the corner from my house, so I go all the time!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Fresh Market, esp. when I am in Florida! There's one out in the western suburbs on Chicago in Geneva. Sadly I don't make it out there enough.
ReplyDeleteLove the FM and have been shopping there at least once a month since 1987! My favorites are the bulk nuts (much less expensive than the regular grocery stores), the Parmesan cheese (also a deal), the honey crisp apples, and the garlic mayonnaise. Also, their French rounds (in the deli dept) are great to keep on hand during the holidays. Occasionally they will offer in-store specials on shrimp or even tenderloin, which they will trim to your specifications or cut into steaks. Be sure to sign up for their emails.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Freshmarket; they have the best pre-made items and if you're looking for a dessert, they have the most delicious bourbon, pecan bars. We've served those at a few last minute dinner parties and always get raving requests for seconds.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the one near you? I know there's one off of Old Court Road/Greenspring Avenue...
ReplyDeleteI think that Eddie's is the most civilized grocery store. I'd never been in a grocery store other than Eddie's until I went to college. What a shock!
The Geneva location is where I get my Fresh Market fix :)
ReplyDeletefresh market is amazing! their pumpkin roll is delicious, and my mom just had some cheese rolls from there for dinner recently--it was great bread!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Fresh Market! I hope we get one here in NY soon!
ReplyDeleteWe have a few fresh markets here in FL and I love them! They also have the best twice baked potatoes and sushi!
ReplyDeletexoxo.
Ours is opening this week! So excited!!
ReplyDeleteSweet leaf tea is the best!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered a Fresh Market in Charlotte & am so excited! Thank you for reminding me to go there :)
