We woke up New Years Eve and made a coffee run to get charged up for the day.
By the time we got back from Starbucks the breakfast casserole which was made with fresh eggs from the Country Couple's chickens had just come out of the oven.
After breakfast we walked down to the beach...with the temperature in the mid-50s there was no need to bundle up.
Captain Henry and Rudder couldn't have been more excited.
EAS & JCW
Rudder enjoyed the salt air.
It was fabulous to be barefoot on the beach in January.
Seeing those bad boys frolic reminded me of the beach scene in Marley & Me...this song started playing in my head. There was one minor incident when the wet dogs tried to play with a lady who was wearing all white and unfortunately wanted nothing to do with them.
Captain Henry wasn't ready to leave the beach.
We had lunch in town and stopped in Summer House to check on our reservation for that evening.
Omg, I'm gonna have to Pinterest that pic of the dogs with the morning light glistening off the ocean! Sooo beautiful. And, wasn't the weather magnificent there that weekend? You could juuuust feel that summer was 'round the corner. Totally triggered homesick tears :(
ReplyDeleteps... can't believe we were so close again. Babe and I were in Rehoboth multiple times too!
Seriously! The shot of those pups makes me want to run to buy your camera!!! Such a great moment of them running towards you.
ReplyDeleteWinter fun at the beach! Summer House great old haunt from the past!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the dogs frolicing at the water's edge is amazing...
ReplyDeleteGood morning from L.A.!
ReplyDeleteI had such a giggle because it is so true~no morning is complete without coffee of some sort (espcially Starbucks). I really enjoy your beach pictures! It
looks like you all enjoyed a wonderful New years Day~even the pups. Take care and enjoy your week ahead!
Warmly,
Elizabeth
those dogs are adorable!
ReplyDeletePerfect day for the beach--what a nice mid-winter treat!
ReplyDeletethose pups are adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect, beautiful day! Loving the photographs of the beach and those gorgeous dogs. Would be amazing any day of the year!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely getting the knack of that new camera, wunderbar! Loved the entire photo series... Until I saw the choke chain on one of the dogs, wah. Not a fan. When are you and hubby-in-waiting (wink!) getting one??? Have i recommended a mini Dachshund yet? Because they are super spesh!!
ReplyDeleteBtw, where does the term whip for a car come from?
I am not sure what the origin of the term whip is but I have always used it to refer to a ride/car. Rest assured that the pups training collars do not hurt them and are used correctly. xx
ReplyDeleteSeriously "Big Stripe"...mini dachsund. Wah. If I saw your mini dachsund I would punt it!
ReplyDeleteWhoa now...everyone prefers different breeds of dogs.
