On my recent trip to Target, I found these paper pates. Target had a pretty big selection of cute paper products, but I thought the sail boat scene and the coral branch plates were the cutest out of the bunch.
I went to a free screening of Food, Inc. last month. It’s a very informative movie about what really goes on within the food industry. The movie will not change how you eat, unless you are ready for a change.
Jane Stanton Hitchcock’s latest novel Mortal Friends is a must read. It is a murder mystery that is set in Washington, DC among the social elite. When I found out that Jane Stanton Hitchcock would be doing a Q&A Café at Nathans of Georgetown it was bittersweet. Nathans was closing after 40 years and this would be the last Q&A Café.

Elizabeth McKay has a new website. I have been a fan of her clothes for awhile and I am so excited you can finally buy them online. I wonder what fall will bring?
I was so thrilled when I spotted this Lilly Pulitzer, limited addition, grapefruit juice container at the local grocery. A portion of the proceeds from the one million containers will go towards breastcancer.org. I got home and discovered that I don’t like grapefruit juice, not even when it comes from a Lilly container. My beau (JCW) will be drinking the juice. He cannot bear for anything to go to waste.
When it comes to flip flops, I am more of a Rainbow girl then someone that sports Havaianas. I have been considering showering at the gym so I was on the prowl for some cute shower shoes. I am a sucker for anything pink and green, so when I saw these flip flops in shocking pink, they became my new shower shoes. These babies might even make it outside of the gym locker room.
.....so many colors to choose from
I am a nervous flyer, primarily because I hate the lack of control, the dirty air, and being subjected to so many people in such a small space. I was sitting on a plane on my way back from a girl’s weekend in Boston/Newport and began to panic. I knew I needed to take my mind away from the fact that I was on a plane. I struck up conversation with the girl sitting next to me. I was pleasantly surprised that we had a lot to talk about. It turns out she was a professional blogger from DC and was in Boston for business. All weekend the topic of starting my own blog kept coming up. Was this just a coincidence that I was sitting next to a blogger or was it fate? I believe that everything happens for a reason (that is my way of dealing with the bad stuff). I had an enjoyable, panic free flight and by the time we landed a blog was born.
