Another Bag, Another Monogram

Over the summer I gave A a tote bag to be monogrammed with her new married initials. We finally got around to going to Star Monograms to have it monogrammed. The style and color of the monogram is always a tough decision...

I decided to have a little fun too and got a bag for myself...since when does it mean you get a new monogrammed tote whenever one of your friends gets married? I guess since now.

She had other monogrammed fish to fry.

It was fun look at all of the new merchandise and I am still thinking about those needlepoint slides.

Fresh Market

Fresh Market opened in my area and it quickly became my favorite place to go grocery shopping.

Fresh Market carries a lot of the same organic items as Whole Foods but they also carry items found in regular grocery stores like Coca-Cola...it's the best of both worlds.

I was very impressed by their flower selection...especially the beautiful orchids for $19.99.

The candy section is huge with everything from Chocolate Covered Animal Crackers in bulk bins to nostalgic candy like Sky Bars. In addition to the bulk candy there are bins of nuts and dried fruit.

Fresh Market carries a wide variety of coffee flavors including Pumpkin Spice...which I have been enjoying every morning this Fall.

I love a good olive bar and now I am officially hooked on their garlic stuffed olives.

Two items that are always on my shopping list are Sweet Leaf Green Tea and Thin Crust Margherita Pizza.

Does the lighting in your Fresh Market seem softer than other grocery stores? What are your Fresh Market favorites?

Mt. Washington Tavern

The Mt. Washington Tavern opened it's doors in 1979 and became a landmark in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1980 it was mentioned in The Official Preppy Handbook as a prep hangout.

Last week there was a two-alarm fire at the Mt. Washington Tavern and the black smoke was seen for miles in Baltimore.

EAS & JCW, Sky Bar at the Tavern

I will miss the Tavern's nachos and french onion soup, meeting friends for drinks, playing the hook game on the roof, saying hi to Dano, having high school reunion meetings, seeing my sister drop her new iPhone in the toilet, going to charity events, requesting songs, a meeting place for first date setups, celebrating my 29th birthday and most importantly, intense games of shuffle board....we are looking forward to the reopening!

Fabulous Friday Finds

Elephant Loafers from Iomoi...these would certainly put a little pep in my step.

I recently discovered the blog Two Hands Five Minutes and was thrilled to see that I was one of their favorite bloggers. Two Hands Five Minutes is written by two sisters who both have unique senses of style.

Needlepoint Eyeglass Cases, Smathers & Branson

Ciao Bella Key Lime Graham Gelato...if you like Key Lime Pie you will not be disappointed! I can't wait to try their Belgian Chocolate S’mores Gelato.

Kayce Hughes has lots of new fall accessories...I am loving this Box Clutch as well as her tortoiseshell jewelry.

Do you have any Friday Finds?

I am hosting a giveaway from Gybe-Ho Boatwear for a twill hat (I am partial to the pink) and a custom t-shirt. The lucky winner will get to design a t-shirt of their choice. You can create a t-shirt with coordinates, your state, boat letters or just the Gybe-Ho logo.

“jibe-ho” is called when the boom is starting to come across the sailboat as a reminder to duck.

The giveaway ends Thursday, November 10th, at 5pm EST and is only open to U.S. residents. The winner will be drawn using Random.org.

The Giveaway:

  1. One entry...leave a comment, you must be a follower.
  2. For an additional entry = 2 entries...become a fan on Facebook.
  3. For an additional entry = 3 entries...become a fan of  Gybe-Ho Boatwear on Facebook.
  4. For an additional entry = 4 entries...tweet about this giveaway.
  5. For an additional entry = 5 entries...post about this giveaway on your blog.
Each entry must be in a separate comment. If you don't have a blog make sure to leave your email address in your comment. A custom shirt would make a great gift for that hard to shop for fellow on your list!

Annapolis Sailboat Show II

Pusser's had a stand at the Boat Show that sold Painkillers. Oh what fun it was to sip Painkillers on a beautiful day while looking at gorgeous sailboats.

2 oz Pusser's dark rum
4 oz pineapple juice
1 oz cream of coconut
1 oz orange juice
Serve on the rocks and grate fresh nutmeg on the top.

 Painkiller's come in three strengths.

 EAS & JCW

A highlight for me was getting some new grocery bags.

JCW couldn't wait to check out the new Sperry Store that just opened in downtown Annapolis.

He picked up some new sailing shoes.

I was drawn to the metallic boat shoes but wasn't sure I could pull them off.

The last stop of the evening was the Federal House for crab dip and fish tacos.

Annapolis Sailboat Show I

It's hard to believe that just three weeks before the first snow we had summertime weather for the Annapolis Sailboat Show.

 JCW & EAS

There were lots of sailboats to explore.

It was fun checking out the booths and finding new vendors like the Belted Cow.

We stopped by Fawcett in JCW's quest for the perfect sailing shoe.

Sea Fever had lots of bags and accessories made of recycled sails.
