Masters Mania

I keep being reminded that its Masters week in Augusta! It’s the topic of conversation everywhere I turn. Green Jacket Auctions has some truly magnificent Masters memorabilia, for instance this complete set of Masters Badges from 1961-2010. If I was the winning bidder I would frame the badges and proudly display them.

The bidding ended for this vintage pre-1967 Green Jacket.

The idea for wearing green jackets began in 1937 when an Augusta National member suggested that member's wear green coats when they host The Masters Tournament so that spectators would know whom to approach for questions and assistance. Green Jackets were exclusively for members until 1949, when the jackets were first given to the winner of the Masters Tournament.

I am sure this Jack Nicklaus signed 1997 Masters Flag will fetch a pretty penny.

Nico and LaLa was even gearing up for a Master's themed baby shower.

I spotted this 'Four Majors' belt from Knot Belt Company over at Red Clay Soul. The belt will be available for sale at the end of April.

While I am on the subject of golf...my cousin is an extremely talented golfer thanks to my grandmother for getting him on the greens when he was just a lad. Here he is giving Paddy Harrington a few pointers on his swing! haha

Will you be watching the Masters or attending a Masters party this weekend?

Sunday in the Country

It was nice to be outside and finally enjoy some sunshine...

and some shotguns.

JCW

Dixie was in her element.

EAS, Dixie, Dixie's Mom

Tailgating is a must whenever possible.

EAS

Hors d'oeuvres tided us over until dinnertime.

EAS & JCW

We munched on Wingers. When it comes to salty snacks they are quasi-healthy.

The day ended with steaks on the grill.

Special thanks to Kipp for having us out to the country for some shootin' & eatin' and to Dixie's parents for being such great company! xx

Holland & Holland Range Rover by Overfinch

Several years ago British gun-maker Holland & Holland teamed up with Range Rover to create a Limited Edition Range Rover, producing only 100 units a year.

It's the most luxurious off-roader ever built.

Overfinch trimmed the interior with a thirty one piece wood veneer kit that's available in an array of options.

The best part of the vehicle as far as I'm concerned is the center console which has an integrated refrigerator and a storage compartment.

The rear compartment has three drawers that house eight Holland & Holland crystal tumblers and flutes, shotguns, a cleaning kit and cartridges. This is the ultimate tailgating machine.

The Holland & Holland Range Rover was conceived with a single intention: “To create an all purpose, all season luxury supercar for the discerning few”.

80's Party

Double Popped Collars & Cable Knits

Gucci Loafer & Legwarmers

The girls primarily wore neon colors and sequins.

and the guys went with madras plaid and pocket squares...were they even dressed up?

Of course there was vintage Lilly.

867-5309...the party was complete with 80's jams.

Despite JCW being out of town I still managed to make it home with an order of Disco Fries...he would have been so proud!

I was a child of the eighties and my most beloved item had to be my Michael Jackson glove. What was your favorite thing to wear in the eighties?

Bill Cunningham New York

Over the weekend I saw Bill Cunningham New York. The documentary follows renowned fashion photographer for The New York Times, Bill Cunningham. It was fascinating to see someone so gifted and incredibly passionate about fashion that has been shooting for the past 50 years and still using film.

Bill Cunningham hits the streets to see what real people are wearing. For example he noticed a trend of Goyard handbags and documented it with images of everyday people using their bags. Visually it's so much more interesting to see real people carrying Goyard bags verses a contrived image of a model holding one.

“Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life” -Bill Cunningham
