Kiel James Patrick

Kiel James Patrick started designing bracelets and belts in prep school after falling in love with tartans, regimental stripes, woven wool and jacquard woven silk ties. His creations were just what he needed to express his individuality in a world of blazers and button downs.

The making of the "Grungy Gentleman" bracelet by KJP.

The finished product is a wool herringbone bracelet backed with KJP's signature plaid.

KJP Ivy League Bracelets

One of the rooms at the KJP headquarters...must be nice to have a bar at work!

As a child one of the best parts about Summer vacation was breaking in your rope bracelet, but come September it had to be cut off for school. The beauty of the KJP rope bracelet is you can simply unbutton it.

A Gluttonous 1st

After making it through some rather intense Mummers Parade traffic we had a delicious brunch at Honey's Sit-N-Eat.

Lawyer Liz and her Beau, JCW, EAS

We emerged later that evening for another meal at Continental Mid-town.

The restaurant had a hip atmosphere with funky decor.

I loved how they served individual shakers with each cocktail.

The boys favorite were the cheesesteak egg rolls...when in Philly.

Top of the list for us girls was the S'more.

We even had a Real Housewives moment when we ordered the Cotton Candy. I wish more restaurants had Cotton Candy on their dessert menus!

Welcome 2011

Our destination for New Years Eve was The Philadelphia Racquet Club. JCW and I had a wonderful time there last year, so we got a group together to ring in 2011.

When the girls arrived we found the boys on the doubles court. After getting cleaned up we all gathered for drinks and a little LRC before dinner.

Then it was off to The Prime Rib.

Creamed Spinach and Bearnaise Sauce are the best part about steakhouses. As for the steak...I could take it or leave it.

Happy 2011!

JCW & EAS

After dinner we went back to the club and there was a party in full swing. We may have slipped in for a few dances!

Special thanks to the group (Lawyer Liz and her Beau, A&T, Dixie's Parents, Mr. & Mrs. B) for ringing in the New Year with us! Best wishes to everyone for a happy and healthy 2011. xx

HomeGoods

After leaving Simon Pearce we did a little shopping before heading into Philadelphia. I picked up this horn frame from HomeGoods.

Sometimes it's easier when there is only one of something to decide which one you want.

On a side note...
Check out the new Facebook page...liking the page is a great way to follow!

Simon Pearce on the Brandywine

On New Years Eve I went to Simon Pearce in West Chester, PA. As of January 12th the glass blowing workshop and restaurant have closed. The retail store is open until February 13th and offering a 30% discount on certain items.

There was a glass blowing workshop to the left as soon as we entered the facility.

After checking out the glass blowing we headed upstairs to the retail store.

There were lots of inspiring tablescapes.

Each piece of stemware is a true work of art.

Mrs. B found a new lamp.

There were shelves of Seconds...I couldn't find any imperfections.

I loved the horn collection.

Across from the store was the Restaurant on the Brandywine River. The view of the snow banked river was breathtaking and made me want to order some serious comfort food.

Cauliflower Gratin with gruyere & ham, Mushroom Soup, and a homemade Pomegranate Soda. It was fun to see everything that was sold in the store being put to use in the restaurant. I would hate to break one of those glasses!

A, Mrs. B, EAS

Special thanks to a pregnant Mrs. B for driving and suggesting we make the stop on our way to Philadelphia. I am glad we got to go before the location closed! xx

Back Home

From rum drinks & bathing suits to hot tea & snow boots. Recognize this burgee...any guesses where I was on holiday?
