Bridles and Bits

This Saturday is a huge day when it comes to horse racing. The 136th running of the Kentucky Derby will take place at Churchill Downs.

Along with the 85th running of the Virginia Gold Cup which is held at Great Meadow.

Resails

With spring sailing just beginning...these Resails bags are perfect for hitting the docks. The products are made from recycled sail cloth (marine goes green). Resails carries a wide selection of goods from kevlar wallets, dog collars, and vests, but I am especially fond their bags and accessories. They have stores in Newport and Annapolis and it just so happens I am due for a trip to Annapolis.

Toiletries Kit

N Series Kevlar Duffles

N Series Tote

Instructions for sail donations...

Don't throw that out! We would love to recycle your old sails and convert them into our one of a kind Re-Sails bags. Specifically, we are looking for Dacron sail cloth between 5 and 9 ounces only. We appreciate you're donations and will gladly cover ground shipping expenses. In addition, benifactors will receive a complimentary N Series or # bag!

US Squash Championships

The US Squash Championships were held in Baltimore this year. It had been fourteen years since they were last in Baltimore.

The 75th Anniversary Party was held at the Maryland Club and the bear was even sporting his squash gear.

EAS & JCW

All proceeds from the silent auction benefited SquashWise.

You can't go wrong auctioning squash racquets in a room full of squash players.

There was an array of food.

Matsuri sushi is a Baltimore favorite.

Slurp

Lots of fixins'

The pasta bar was my favorite food selection...I opted for lobster ravioli.

Mini creme brulee

The band played lots of Motown.

Martini ice luge

If there is one thing I learned at Roanoke College it was how to do an ice luge.

My luge preferences may have matured from Popov to Veuve but my talent remains.

I pulled this CKB Charleston dress (circa 2007) out of the back of my closet and was glad it still fit.

JCW's new US Squash racquet.

I love all of the Maryland details.

Sweet Surprises

When I came home from my grandmother's funeral, I found these lovely tulips from MBW at my door.

A few days later I got this thoughtful care package in the mail.

There was a note from Crazy K that read "I must confess Leonard ate some of the goodies so you are a few short". I would expect nothing less from Leonard. Leonard is one of my good pups and he totally marches to the beat of his own drummer...to put it mildly.

My god pups...Lucille & Leonard

Special thanks to MBW, Crazy K, and everyone else for all of your sweet gifts and kind notes. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends. You all mean more then you will ever know. xx

The Cabana

The Cabana is a new Lilly Pulitzer store that just opened in Grand Cayman. I went to college with the store manager...she is a total doll with superb taste. Here are some images of a trunk show they had on the island before the store opened.

A few years back JCW and I went to Grand Cayman and had a wonderful time. One thing that was missing was a Lilly store but not anymore! If you are lucky enough to make it to the island stop in The Cabana.

Tee Time

The only time I ever play golf or go to the driving range is on a beautiful day. If the weather is nice I will take any excuse to spend the day outside.

JCW's swing is much better then mine.

Maybe I would enjoy the sport more if I had monogrammed shoes? Do those come in pink?

In desperate need of more practice.
