Golden West Cafe is an eclectic restaurant and bar filled with edgy artwork. The menu consists of local ingredients with a southwestern flare and offers a large variety of vegetarian and vegan options.
The menus were created by laminating childhood story time favorites.
We started out with a
Fritto Pie.
I had an apple, brie, and pesto sandwich with a side of tater tots.
The walls of the ladies room was covered with record album covers.
York Peppermint Patties (one of my personal favorites) came with our check. Why don't more restaurants serve Yorks with the check?

Looks fab!
(minus the tater tots)

Peppermint Patties and tatter tots?! That's a complete meal in my book. Side of yellow mustard por favor...XXOO
I think I've been there before!!! It's right near the JHU campus, no? Question: my exbf went to JHU and he got me into these specific B-more chocolate chip cookies. Do you know of them?
how was the apple and brie sandwhich? I think I would loev that... I need to figure out how to make it!
But 'cept it's Tater Tots.
I was just there last time I was in MD. The food was delicious. Such an interesting part of B-more.
Try a Mahi Mahi fish soft taco next time you do Mexican, a healthier choice! Cheese and tater tots well... way to much saturated fats! Don't mean to preach, but you'll thank me in the long haul.
What a great restaurant...and the Yorks can't be beat!
What a fun place! And anyplace that ends the meal with Yorks is a must-see. Looks similar to a place we have here, Lynn's Paradise Cafe.
The sandwich was great...the brie was melted and pesto was the perfect condiment!
I must know more about these B-more chocolate chip cookies!
A mahi mahi fish taco sounds DELISH...you will be happy to know that tots are not an everyday occurrence! xx
I think the chocolate chip cookies are Otterbein's. Very good but I still prefer the Berger cookies!
The Yorks definitely are a substantial improvement over the Starlight mints that most restaurants give! I'm hoping giving away Yorks will become a new trend :)
peppermint patties are one of my favs! i wish more restaurants gave them out instead of the standard peppermints! the atmosphere of that restaurant is so fun!
How much fun is that place!

What a cool place! It looks awesome.

I think they might be Otterbein's. Are those super flat (with the chips raised?). You have to forgive me because this was 7 years ago! :)
Otterbein's are the super thin cookies...I love them!
ERB knows her baked goods! xx
How yummy does that look?! And fun too, hat makes such a big difference when eating out, if the ambience is not relaxing and enjoyable the food does not taste as good.
And you are so right about the York Peppermints, almost no one does that anymore.

OK...you had me with Frito Pie. Comfort food if there ever was one! Yum!!!
what a neat place! I want everything you ate, delish!
