JCW's Graduation

After stopping in Thomas Pink at the the Mayflower for cufflinks we headed to Georgetown for JCW's graduation. There was a lot of commotion about "University" being misspelled on all of the commencement programs.

I managed to score a seat on the aisle...better for paparazzing.

JCW during the graduation march.

Fortunately his graduation took place on the lawn. It was the last ceremony that day to be outdoors because the rain was on it's way.

The ceremony turned out to be pretty painless but I brought the Peg Game to keep myself occupied...just in case.

EAS & JCW

Cheers to JCW! I am very proud of him for graduating and impressed that he was able to commute to DC everyday. However, we are going to have to work past the severe road rage he developed along to way.

After graduation he had one thing on his mind...food. He took us to Jetties which was a usual stop for his Lunch Club. Starting Lunch Club was JCW's greatest accomplishment while at Georgetown. In essence the club was a group of people that went to different restaurants for lunch every week.

"Jetties is a Nantucket style sandwich, salad, soup, and of course ice cream beach shack"

All of the sandwiches are names after beaches in Nantucket.

Tom Nevers: Carved turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce tomato and mayo on triple-decker toasted sourdough

Nobadeer: Carved turkey and stuffing with cranberry sauce and mayonnaise on sourdough
This sandwich is seriously better then Thanksgiving!

I prob crossed paths with JCW at one point or another at Jetties! My preference waxed and wanned b/t a custom Nobadeer (only half the turkey and mayo please!) and the Sconset. Babe was strictly a Sankaty on Saturdays...XXOO

Wow, awesome accomplishment! My son will receive his undergraduate degree from Gtown's business school in two years (fingers crossed). Thanks for the sandwich shop recommendation. Haven't heard of that one yet but can't wait to try it. Love your Lilly, my daughter has the same one and it is one of my favs! Enjoy the rest of your summer! Michele

Can you imagine how horrible whoever was in charge of the graduation materials must've felt when that mistake was found?! Congrats to JCW, and I'm so glad you had a great time. That sandwich looks amazing.

I think it takes a looong time to grow out of DC roadrage after braving the beltway often. ;)

Those sandwiches look delicious! One of my favorite places in Cville sells delicious sandwiches all named after parts of Cville, too!

I remember reading this punctual mishap in the Atlantic Wire and even then thought it to be a hilarity of epic proportions. Send my congrats to that well accomplished old sport or yours.

Congrats to J on graduating! I notice you talk a lot of him but never about what you do for a living or your background. Love your blog - would love to know you better!
