Mint Julep

It's that time of year again, time for the Kentucky Derby which means the Mint Julep is the drink to drink.

Last weekend this oversized Mint Julep was floating around Hunt Cup.

The cup was refilled over the course of the day.

Let's just say I may have already had my Mint Julep fill along with the 100 other people that were drinking it.

That cup is fabulous. We'll be having our own Derby Party in NC. My besties mom is a former Derby Queen and is hosting a fabulous party with all traditional Derby fare. Have a great weekend!

I am typically a germ-a-phobe too but I tend to make an exception when alcohol is involved! xx

Too bad we didn't see you at Hunt Cup . . . . JMOC made mint julep jello shots that were a hit!!

How much fun is that! I've only tasted a mint julep once, but I'm not a huge bourbon lover ... even just smelling it gives me the shivers!

Gotta love drinking out of a loving cup!! It's what I did the night before my UVA graduation. The bourbon definitely kills all germs :)

BMO'C,

I believe my group was next to yours, and yes, they were delicious.

Regardless of the germs, the photo of you sipping out of the large cup is great!! The mint plant in my garden has exploded in recent weeks - the mint juleps have been steadily flowing!

I love that gigantic julep cup, even if the thought of so many people drinking from it makes me shudder!

I'm not a big bourbon fan, either. I like mint juleps because I can nurse one the whole day and look as if I'm having fun the whole time without getting tipsy.

That is one big julep! I had my fair share this past Saturday at our Derby party. And it's great to have a garden full of fresh mint to pick for your drink - makes for a great refreshment!
