Collecting

These photographs from NYSD of Boaz Mazor's apartment showcase his maximalist approach to decorating.

It's so much fun to see the items that people choose to surround themselves with in their homes. I love the idea of everything you collect having it's own story...where you were when you found it, who gave it to you, why you bought it. I don't know about you but I am in the mood to go hunting for treasures.

I have to admit that those photos stress me out a little. I tend to like a "less is more" look. But very cool.

I collect antique ironstone, and have been meaning to do a post forever. Check out my latest blog about The Barn. Have you ever heard about it? My other favorite place to antique and collect is at the Wednesday sales in Crumpton, MD. Have you heard of that? Unbelievable! Basically the contents of the old Eastern Shore farmhouses being sold in fields every Wednesday. Worth taking a day off of work, even if it is only for the people watching - teeth optional in a lot of cases - ha! If you are interested, i will send you a link.

When I am at other people's homes, I too LOVE to see what all they have chosen to display! I love to ask them questions about this and that - so interesting to me!
I am ALWAYS in the mood to go hunting for "treasures"!!
Have a great rest of the week,
Cindy

I like when people decorate their homes using interesting and personal displays; however, when I look at these photos, all I can think is, "What a bitch to dust."

I thought the same thing about the dusting...all for the price of beauty! xx

I love this! Growing up in a maximalist household ;), I tend to adore "stuff" of all kinds. I have been attempting to keep out the clutter, but love showcasing collections and wonderful finds and family passdowns. My current love is silver candlesticks and candelabras, and last night I lit a bunch just for fun during dinner!

Ever since I was a little girl, I've had "collections" and have to restrain myself from littering every available surface with displays. Of course, this ended several years ago when my oldest child became a toddler, and my tables look pretty Spartan in comparison... But I still love my "things" and I never stopped collecting them.
