Shoe Verdict

My black watch Plaid Loafers arrived and I couldn't be happier with them. I am almost always a size 6 so that's what I ordered even though some reviews said to size up. The size 6 fits perfectly! I have only worn them around the house but they have proven to be every comfy unlike some of the other shoes in my closet.

I can't remember the last time I shopped at Gap but I didn't even have time to blink after I spotted these Tartan Loafers and placed the order. First the Emery Flats now these! I am impressed with all of Gap's plaid pieces this season. They are offering 30% off of all online orders today with the code GAPFEST.

Moving Finds

Moving has been a lot of work but it's also been a lot of fun stumbling upon things I forgot about and unpacking lots of memories. It was a pleasant surprise finding this needlepoint pillow that I had totally forgotten I bought.

I was reminded of how many garden stools I actually have...they will always be a weakness.

Bowties are JCW's garden stools.

We haven't hit the slopes in years...I am not sure if wearing our gear would be the equivalent to sporting the Steve Madden Slinky sandal to a wedding?

Even though we don't have a tape player these bootlegs aren't going anywhere.

Happy Fall from J.McLaughlin!

Stardust Cruise

In Martha's Vineyard we had a date night that started off with a sunset cruise on the Stardust. The Stardust is docked at Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown. As we waited in the lobby of the hotel I spotted this model of the Stardust.

 

The Stardust is a wooden boat that was built in 1966.

 

Captain Mike showed us our course before heading out.  

 

It was so much fun seeing all of the beautiful boats and homes in the harbor.

 

We swung by the liquor store in Edgartown before the cruise and couldn't resist bringing a little bit of Maryland aboard.

JCW & EAS

I wore a navy & white print Elizabeth McKay shirt.

 

Before the cruise it looked like it was going to rain but the sky cleared which left us with the perfect temperature...

and a lovely sunset.

The views were breathtaking.

We can't wait to go back for another date night.

A couple weeks prior to our cruise aboard the Stardust JCW's friends from Georgetown got engaged on the boat and Lindsay from Vineyard Loveknots just got engaged aboard the Stardust over Columbus Day weekend...best wishes and congratulations to both couples!

Special thanks to Captain Mike who was highly entertaining, told great stories, was an excellent photographer and who's girlfriend quickly became JCW's niece and nephew's favorite babysitter on the island.

Caffeine Fix

Today is the day Starbucks puts some changes into effect to the My Starbucks Rewards Program. I downloaded the app on my phone and linked it to my PayPal account but you can also register a gift card. The app makes checkout a breeze and I was really enjoying my free vanilla syrup and soy milk.

Members will no longer get syrups and soy milk on the house but they can now earn a free drink (or food) with every 12 Stars instead of 15. Will your drink order be effected by these changes?

On another Starbucks note they will be debuting their Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream this fall.

JCW and I both recently started drinking coffee so we are still caffeine newbies. I am wondering if the Starbucks Verismo would be worth checking out. I do love the the champagne color and the narrow design but I am confident that would have no bearing on the purchase decision for JCW.

We have also heard very good things about the Nespresso Citiz Espresso Maker from our friends.

 

The Keurig B60 Coffee Maker is an easy option because I already have some K-Cups flavors on my radar...

J.Crew Factory

The J.Crew Factory website launched yesterday. There are silk tops, bow dresses, colored pants, plaid blazers and cashmere sweaters but the Emery Flats are what really caught my eye! I thought a Friday pop-in was in order when I saw some of the new arrivals are 40% off. Have a wonderful weekend.

Maryland Pride

With Orioles and Ravens games in full swing it's hard to not feel the intense amount of Maryland Pride that's been going around charm city! We get lots of use out of our Maryland Flag Tervis Tumblers. I found them at Bed Bath & Beyond. Does your local Bed Bath & Beyond carry Tervis Tumblers with your state flag?

Boston Visit

On our way to Martha's Vineyard we spent the weekend with my Boston bestie MBW and got to meet her new addition.

I brought baby Abby some Roberta Roller Rabbit Monkey Pajamas.
