135th Preakness Stakes Recap

The 2010 Preakness Stakes was Saturday, May 15th.

The night before Preakness the Mt. Washington Tavern was buzzing with excitement.

Preakness morning we headed to Dixie's Dad and Mom's for breakfast.

They even had fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice.

The next stop was Pimlico.

Vendors walk around selling Black-Eyed Susans.

I prefer to get my Susans freshly made at a bar with an extra shot of Jack.

EAS & JCW

Zac Brown Band played in the infield. If you have not heard them listen to Whatever It Is...it's one of my favorite songs.

JCW, Lawyer Liz's Beau, Tiz

Dixie's Dad and Mom with Mr. Maryland

We were all gearing up for the big race.

Lookin At Lucky takes it! The next day we went back to Pimlico to cash out JCW's winning ticket...he bet on Lucky to win.

$8.00 for a Black-eyed Susan?!?...well I guess it's OK since you get a souvenier glass..
Never been to the Preakness as it is always the same day as The Radnor Hunt Races...
You guys look like you did the day in style...
Impressed that JCW picked the winner!

That looks like so much fun. We went to the races last weekend for the first time and won a little. It was a blast. Never had a Black-Eyed Susan. Looks so refreshing. :)

Love the photo of they entire "gang." Darling!

The late Cohen Brothers, who used to own Pimlico Race Track, were surrogate Godparents of mine. I had a small trust fund from them that I blew in the first 2 weeks at Loyola on beer and Laura Ashley dresses :)
