Caffeine Fix

Today is the day Starbucks puts some changes into effect to the My Starbucks Rewards Program. I downloaded the app on my phone and linked it to my PayPal account but you can also register a gift card. The app makes checkout a breeze and I was really enjoying my free vanilla syrup and soy milk.

Members will no longer get syrups and soy milk on the house but they can now earn a free drink (or food) with every 12 Stars instead of 15. Will your drink order be effected by these changes?

On another Starbucks note they will be debuting their Pumpkin Spice Latte Ice Cream this fall.

JCW and I both recently started drinking coffee so we are still caffeine newbies. I am wondering if the Starbucks Verismo would be worth checking out. I do love the the champagne color and the narrow design but I am confident that would have no bearing on the purchase decision for JCW.

We have also heard very good things about the Nespresso Citiz Espresso Maker from our friends.

The Keurig B60 Coffee Maker is an easy option because I already have some K-Cups flavors on my radar...

Keurig Coffee Pumpkin Spice Coffee K-Cups

Dunkin Donuts K-Cups

If we were going to really splurge we could go for the Philips Saec Espresso Machine but I have a feeling my obsession with Persian rugs for the new house would be short lived.

How do you make your morning beverage? We would appreciate any coffee intel you could share!

Love my Keurig! But you should check out the new Keurig Vue- more brewing options- stronger, hotter, larger cup size. Plus, it can do iced coffee/tea and frothy drinks too! XO

That ice cream looks delish! We have a Keurig and we love it...it's so easy to use. However, neither of us drink coffee so it's only been turned on when we have company over haha. I need to get some tea K cups...I'm definitely a tea girl. Good luck with getting into coffee!

Seriously, I cannot even discuss how angry I am about the Sbux Rewards changes. The free syrup saved me like 50 cents every purchase! I will still probably stick with my standard order (nonfat, sugar free hazelnut latte), but I am still annoyed.

We are at-home caffeine newbies. We got a Cuisinart coffee maker as a wedding gift, but we've used it maybe 3 times? We're just not big coffee drinkers and it makes so much! I think a Keurig would be a MUCH better option.

We're french press lovers all the way having discovered our new obsession while visiting one of the kids last winter. It's low tech but easy and makes the most delicious coffee. We love Kcup coffee but worry about the environmental impact.

That pumpkin ice cream sounds delish right about now!

I love coffee. Started drinking later than some - really enjoy the bitter, richness of it. Keuric doesn't allow for much variety of strength (plus the creates a lot of trash).

I like to limit "stuff" on countertops. Aeropress is on my radar!

If you go big there is always the registry...

We have a Citiz and LOVE it. No mess, great coffee, easy to operate, and takes up much less counter space than some of the other options. The only downsides are (1) you have to order the pods from Nespresso, and (2) Nespresso doesn't really "do" flavored coffee, except around the holidays, and even then their flavored offerings are quite limited. Neither of these are a problem for us, and I love my cute little machine, but they could be a deal-breaker for others.
Happy shopping! :)

My Portuguese parents LOVE their espresso and we have a Philips Espresso machine at home. It does produce some wonderful coffee and cappuccinos! However, I bought my boyfriend the Nespresso for his apartment and it works just as well and is much easier to use for the inexperienced espresso maker! I have keurig at school and Love the donut flavor!

I actually happen to be a Barista at Starbucks! The Verismo is awesome! It makes really great coffee, and latte's without much effort. If you have any questions about them, let me know! I just had a training session and learned everything there is to know about Verismo!

I don't love my Keurig. I am going to get the Nespresso. Everyone I know loves theirs.

You recently posted that Artifact cafe does cuppings. I'd never heard of this before. Then, while on Amazon the other day, I happened across a great review for a coffee maker that's supposed to be the next best thing, better than a press pot. I have to admit, I'm curious now and want to try it out. I think it's going on my Christmas list. The reviewer recommended it for all coffees, except dark espresso brews which he says are better with an espresso machine.

I need to do some research too! I would love to have an espresso machine at home, But when it comes down to it I'm always out and about and like my Sbux and DD stops. Decisions decisions!
