Thanksgiving Dinner

For Thanksgiving dinner this year we decided to go with Baked Stuffed Lobsters instead of the traditional turkey dinner.

I got the idea for Baked Stuffed Lobsters after watching an episode of Diners, Drive-in and Dives.

Food always taste better when you haven't lifted a finger preparing it...JCW completely spoiled us by doing all of the cooking.

For dessert SAS made her famous Monkey Bread.

On the Half Shell

After we watched the Thanksgiving Hunt fade into the distance it was time to check out Mr. Maryland's latest venture...Carter's on the half shell.

Mignonette Sauce is by far my favorite topping.

JCW isn't shy when it comes to oysters...his current record is 92 in one sitting.

If you are interested in oysters or having a shucker for an upcoming event give Mr. Maryland a call (410-812-2626) or email him at carterwornom@gmail.com.

Christmas in November

I have been wanting an SLR camera for quite some time and I was planning on asking for a Nikon D3100 for Christmas. Over the weekend JCW had a solo wedding in NYC and this was just the right amount of leverage I had been looking for to get my present early. When I got wind that Nikon had come out with a Red 3100 I headed straight to Best Buy to check it out...

In true EAS fashion, initially I wanted the colorful version but I decided the black might make me look like more of a legit photographer. In addition, the red would have clashed with my summer wardrobe of Lilly so I went with the black 3100. My point & shoot has served me well and I will probably still be taking it most places because I prefer to carry clutches as well as have a few cocktails! I would love to hear any tips you might have on using SLR cameras. Next on the agenda...look for a cute strap!

Special thanks to JCW for giving into my Christmas in November and being prepared for even more pictures...I love you and my new cammy! xx

Fall Housewarming

Last month we went to a wonderful housewarming party.

The gracious host & hostess restocking the bar.

Rudder...and yes he is named after the legendary The Rusty Rudder in Dewy Beach because that's were his parents met.

The tablescape was full of Fall elements and the Chick-fil-A was a hit.

Caitlin McGauley watercolor looked beautiful on the wall.

The signature drink was a seasonal Dark 'n' Stormy made with Apple Cider and Maraschino Cherries.

We finished the evening with s'mores around the fire.

Like Mother Like Daughter

From handbags to napkins, my mom and I always seem to pick out the very same things. I don't think this is a coincidence. It's pretty clear that my mother is my tastemaker. As a teenager I remember patiently waiting while she tried on pair after pair of  Stubbs & Woottons during spring break... who knew years later I would be trying to sneak them out of her closet! Did your mother's taste shape your style?

2011 USS Constellation Cup

JCW raced in the USS Constellation Cup again this year and I was ready for the after party with bells on.

It was a beautiful night at the inner harbor.

Before we boarded the USS Constellation we enjoyed oysters on the pier.

Painkillers and Dark 'n' Stormies were two of the signature drinks and they happen to be my very favorite cocktails.

EAS & JCW

Absolutely Perfect Catering did a phenomenal job. There were plenty of hors d’oeuvres but the Deconstructed French Onion Soup with grilled Gruyere & caramelized onion Paninis were totally blog worthy.

The band kept us entertained throughout the evening.
