I Married Adventure

I found a 1st edition copy of Osa Johnson's I Married Adventure. I was very pleased that the book was in excellent condition...it's always a gamble when you order something used online.

My next task was to find a home for the animal print book. I am all about browns and beiges (with the exception of blue and white) so it worked well with my color scheme.

Its new home is on one of my garden stools.

This image of Osa Johnson's books perched upon Goyard luggage is one of my favorites. The photo is from Elizabeth Bauer Design.

As far as accent furniture goes it doesn't get better then vintage Goyard trunks. I like the mystery of antiques and the idea of not knowing who owned them or where they have been. I saw this one in Ralph Lauren at the Chevy Chase store.

If you are interested in picking up a copy of one of these books check out the Matters of Style Store.

Love the way you decorate. I'm very similar. And I dress the same way LOL

I found my copy at a local used book store! Apparently one of the benefits of living on the middle of nowhere...

I would love a vintage Goyard trunk like that...such a classic. I also like to think of all the places they may have travelled over the years.

What a FAB find! I've been looking when I hit up used bookstores, but I'll have a copy one day! I really like where you put it...and I see you have a thing for blue & white, just like me!

I am LOVING this post. and your decorating panache too; this is not lip service, you have such impeccable taste, I always love seeing the little nooks and crannies that you put together and would love to have you do a post on your top do's and don't and things you love where design is involved!
