Goat Cheese

Chèvre (French for goat) is cheese made from goat milk.

The Year of the Goat: 40,000 Miles and the Quest for the Perfect Cheese by Margaret Hathaway and Karl Schatz. This book is about a couple that was as living in NYC and became fed up with the city. This couple described themselves as foodies. They were every interested in goat cheese so decided to take a pilgrimage of all things goat. I am a huge fan of goat cheese but can’t see myself ever taking it this far.
Here are some goat cheese delicacies I have enjoyed recently…
Goat Cheese, Leek and Wild Mushroom Pizza from Agraria Farmers & Fishers. This restaurant is owned by the North Dakota Farmers Union and only serves sustainable local food.

Salad with Goat Cheese, Pecans, Curants, and Onions

Salad with Roasted Portabellos, Goat Cheese, Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Pine Nuts

Vermont Butter & Cheese Company has a great online store and also sells products at local groceries.

there is nothing quite as incredible as goat cheese, is there?! funny that I'm from the Dairy State and do not care for cheese- save for goat cheese!

I have loved goat cheese ever since our friend Lexi from college made this amazing recipe for me at my bacheloretty party BBQ. It was toasted bruschetta type bread with goat cheese, honey and fresh ginger root. It was the best combination of flavors!
